In what way was he not sh*t? Looked an old man running around. Immobile as they come without being disabled.
If we're simply looking at signing a bloke because he's nice and sociable and will keep the rest of the squad happy then why don't we simply sign a comedian? I suggest Alexei Sayle who would be able to assist with the squad's political education as well.
If we are going 4231 then Deeney will be 1st choice #9, Ighalo back up, Geijo back up back up (by which I mean rarely if ever gets a game) works for me, pointless wasting millions on a 3rd choice #9 In a 4231 I'm more interested in how we get a decent 3 behind Deeney (Vydra, Abdi, and...?) possibly where the Perotti thing fits in? Those 3 players will be key to our season.
8 starts, 2 goals. His assist for Vydra at Leeds and his goal at home to Charlton showed he has quality. He wasn't sh*t, for sure.
Always looked to me like he needed a run of three-five games to get his eye in and then he'd be very decent, but that didn't happen and it's not going to happen with us next year. If he was in loan at nearly any championship club next year, I'd back him to get 15+ goals.
