Looks like we have enquired about him too. Roma have been sniffing around. Well down the pecking order at Barca
Only one cap for Spain and less than 50 games for Barcelona first team. Is he not just another Gerard Lavin ?
"Aleix Vidal has long been a goal of Rome, but the Giallorossi are likely to see themselves blowing the footballer from WATFORD." And rightly so too.
Well if they are prepared to go to those lengths, they can have him. However losing him to such underhand tactics leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
According to my contact at the Shell garage (who's been reading Wikipedia), Aleix Vidal Parreu (born 21 August 1989) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays for Barcelona. Mainly a right-back and a player of great speed, he can also operate as a right winger.[1][2] Having spent his early career at a string of lower-league and reserve teams, he became a regular at Almería, helping them to promotion to La Liga, and also won the Europa League with Sevilla before signing for Barcelona in 2015 for €17 million. So he's not young (as per), is quick (which we need), can also play on the right wing (like Kiko and Janmaat) and cost Barca a lot of money. And his mum used to be Miss Parreu.
Well, I noticed that a few of the comments on Barca's announcement of Deulofeu yesterday were "Why not take Aleix Vidal instead, he's useless"as well as "Take Aleix Vidal, he is deadwood". This is before anyone had even mentioned Vidal as a transfer rumour. I've got a hunch that these very comments gave some bored journalist a 'story' to produce. I might be completely wrong on that front, but in regards to his ability, apart from a decent single season at Sevilla, his record as a player isn't exactly brilliant. He is 28 and he is a right back... As if we need another one. On top of that, judging by some twitter comments (very reliable indeed), he seems to be the Barca equivalent to Ben Watson and Capoue as being "deadwood"- albeit in another position. All that said, Kiko wasn't exactly a 'baller' in Spain, and he is currently one of my favourite players at Watford - just behind Doucoure and Richy. In reality, I'd rather us bring in a loanee striker or that Donydonkerwonker bloke to be honest; along with a decent center back. Those are positions we really need to add some quality and depth to.
Dunno what you're on about. So far as I can see all our defenders get left back whenever they try to defend. It's their specialist skill.
I would welcome him here with open arms. Far better option than Janmaat. But we do need a left back. Such a shame we missed out on Tagliafico. Then we could have sent Zeegelaar and Daryl on their way.
I see he s a winger turned FB. I’d imagine we d signed him for his winger abilities rather than FB duti s seeing as we only have 3 wingers and have only just signed another 2 wingers . However our signing of zero FBs has added nicely to our roster of zero existing FBs who are able to defend .
Bar*a deadwood is not necessarily the same as Watford deadwood. Anyone good enough t9 feature for Barca over a few seasons is probably going to be awesome for us irrespective of whether their fans think their the best in the world. Different expectations. Doucoure would probably be deadwood to Bar*a. Two deadwoods don’t make an oak tree or something like that.
I don't know. Even Barca has some shoddy players within their ranks. Denis Suarez is a prime example of that - very average player. Would love to be proved wrong though
I look forward to watching him casually , canter back after a mildly unsuccessfull attack whilst watching the opposition winger steam forward ,busting a lung to get on he end of a cross to pit us 1-2 down in the 93 minute .
Denis Suarez average!! I cant find approoriate words to mock you. So by your opinions about him must mean every Watford player is *****
Well, in my opinion he is... "Mock" me however you want, but by Barca's standards, he is pretty poor and if put in a team like Sevilla, he is an average player of the bunch. Don't get me wrong, he is better than players such as Capoue and Watson who are **** (like you say). I'd say he is about the same level as Pereyra in terms of ability and value. But like Pereyra, he would get most gametime at a midtable club - they are/were benchwarmers at best at the big teams so they are (in regards to those 'big' teams) pretty average. I mean, Pereyra is struggling to get gametime here; even when he is fit....
