Derby County have confirmed defensive duo Claude Davis and Martin Albrechtsen have had their contracts cancelled by mutual consent. Davis and Albrechtsen have both been deemed surplus to requirements by Rams boss Nigel Clough and had not featured in the first team this season. Jamaican centre-half Davis is now expected to join Championship rivals Crystal Palace, where he spent the final stages of last season on loan. Palace boss Neil Warnock confirmed that the club have had a work permit hearing for the 30-year-old and should now finalise a deal for Davis. Albrechtsen, meanwhile, is expected to return to his native Denmark with reports suggesting the versatile defender will join FC Midtjylland. The 29-year-old made 42 appearances for Derby last season after arriving from West Brom, but admitted earlier in the summer that he was open to a move away from Pride Park. Cant imagine either wages would be high, for starters davis is set to join palace therefore his wages cant be that high as they pay lowish wages. Personally i dont really rate Claude Davis but i think that Albrechtsen was a good player at West brom but havent seen him play for a while. No fee only wages, either of them worth a punt?
Considering we desperately need a striker/midfielder and these two players are a pile of w@nk I would say nah.
Albrechtsen is not a bad player, but he really struggles with injuries. If Williamson goes then not a bad shout, but I really doubt that he would even register on our radar in reality.
Albrechtsen is presumably signing for Danish club FC Midtjylland. I agree he would be a good and I think maybe he would be worth a punt. Davis on the other hand is not really my kind of player.
We've been linked with Davis since promotion. I believe Aidy bid around £3m for him at one point! He's woeful though.
Derby fans rate him as one of the worst ever players to pull on the shirt. Would be typical of Aidy to buy some useless player for above what they are worth. No thanks to either. Better wait until a decent player comes along rather than panic buy.
