I've noticed he isn't starting for Boro anymore. Think they would let him come back on loan? It was when he left that our form deteriorated.

Would love to have him back - would rather buy him - but I've a feeling he'll go elsewhere. Weren't Spurs linked to him a while ago:(

Also Betty came out and said the other week that he's NOT coming back...as much as it pains me to say it!!

Wait and see don't rule out the Marlon to Middlesborough and Johnson back here deal word from M'brough is Southgate is desperate for a goal scorer and Marlon fits that bill for them, being told that we may well end up with Johnson if we play hard ball with them over this, though may not go through until late January.

The best we can hope for is cash and MAYBE Johno coming on loan until the end of the season with a view to a permanent deal.

    Can't see it though.

Don't be so sure Bubble, there is a lot going on with this behind the scenes, I know for a fact several phone calls in the past 2 weeks about this.

One thing for certain Marlon is NOT going to Fulham.

I'm not writing it off. Who the hell thought James Morrison would go to the Saggies?

I hope you're right mate, I really do! I'd love to see Johno back here, and if it's in place of Marlon then so be it! AJ's different class IMO.

King to Fulham is doing the rounds on Skysports News...they're usually pretty dependable. How comes you're so certain he won't end up there?

Being told by decent source whose sports editor with a good paper and has apparently spoken with Marlon that he ruled out Fulham as he felt he wouldn't get the service to be succesful there, mind you god knows it must be better than hoofball. Also was apparently unhappy about their turnover of managers of late.

I think Johnson will stay until the end of this season at Boro and then they mgiht let him go.

Incorrect. It was the instant when DeMerit got injured against WBA that our form deteriorated.

Southgate badly needs a proven goal scorer as since Yakubu left they have really struggled. The fact is there are not many around and in Marlon we happen to have one when he gets himself up for it. M'borough obviously don't want to lose Johnson, but if thats the only way they can land a goal scorer to ensure they stay up then it's a price they will pay. Source of this is a N Yorkshire sports reporter with good links inside M'borough.

Mahon (Perhaps this should be in General Football) not sure

Our form went downhill when Mahon left; at Colchester we were 2 nill down after 20 mins both from set plays and if Mahon had been there he would have sorted out where players should have been situated for the set plays. As the second goal went in Poom started berating the rest of the team as to where they should all of been positioned (after the ball was in the back of the net) and Demerit told Poom exactly what he thought of him telling him where to get off to, I mean he really told Poom what he thought. Funny old thing a few minutes later Poom limped off.

So although everyone has slated Mahon off as well as the rest of the team (yeah they are not playing well) but I personally find it totally embarrassing how we slate all the players its cringing to hear. Do not get me wrong if you knew who I was I am as vocal as anyone with my support but I personnally feel we really have missed Gavin in the past few weeks.

I personally think that Demerit has not lived up to expectations since having the captains armband albeit only a few times but I really thought he would be more vocal (as he certainly was at Poom for all to hear at Colchester). But no as I have posted before someone needs to come out and fists up to the Rookery and all around the Vic to get the crowd going, something that no player ever seems to do. Bring back someone who will do this, we have no real legend. Demerit says he is not a shouter etc, well what is he doing with the captains armband, everyone says that Mahon did not seem to motivate the team and now we are having the same sort of Captain.

I also think it was disgraceful seeing Marlon running up and down the touchline on Saturday laughing and joking before half time, to me that smacks of I dont give a monkeys I am still being paid whether we are 3 nil down or not. Someone needs to do something about that (Aidy!) as it is just something else to incense the crowd. Havent seen Marlon's Dad recently either and he has always been at the games (perhaps someone has seen him and can correct me).

Anyway good luck to Gavin and I think we as fans have treated him abysmally (spelling)!

No, I agree that our form has nose-dived after Demerits injury against West Brom. Ever since THAT defeat, the crowd now get on the players back at every opportunity.

The crowd needs the players to lift them and the players need the crowd to lift them. Unfortunently that little system isnt working, hence the shocing home form and the decent away form. Thats the way I'm looking at it anyway.

Interesting to see SAF at MUFC saying much the same as Russ just has...of course, they have a few more resources at their disposal to turn things round.

Might be better getting someone like Patrik Berger in on loan until end of season.

As for left backs, think the good ones are all "employed" so looks like Jordan Parkes might be our best bet?
