    The rumour that Abdi is off to Young Boys FC in Switzerland has resurfaced in the Italian media half an hour ago.

    Is this the reason we are looking at another midfielder?

    Do we know that Abdi has definately signed his contracy?

    Until there is confirmation of Abdi (and others) signing for us there is always going to be speculation and media hype. I think if any of these players were looking for a move away from Watford they wouldn't have arranged to be on our pre-season tour.

    If Abdi was playing in the Watford side of 2-3 years ago, I would expect him to be gone.

    I would be shocked if he'd trade the current Watford side and setup for Swiss football, though, when the club are giving every indication that they're prepared for a massive push for Premiership football this season. Why trade what looks to be a very strong chance of playing in the Premier League for the ASL (hur hur)?

    I know it's not saying much but Switzerland have a population of 8 million and they are just one place behind England in the Fifa rankings. England's population 53 million.

    Young Boys are not even in Europe this season so can't see this happening. Basle or Grasshoppers would be a better bet as they are both in the Champions League.

    Got married on Saturday and as a surprise the missus had managed to get in contact with Almen's agent, and despite it turning out that he was on hols at the time, Almen kindly recorded a short video of congrats and a tip for future happiness, closing with "go watford". True gent and will be awesome watching him grace the vic again next season!
