Z Cars is an outdated, crappy tune that's all about Liverpool, not Watford, but it's OUR outdated, crappy tune that's all about Liverpool, not Watford. It still sends shivers down my spine as it reminds me of how I felt during GT's first coming.

I can understand that those unlucky enough to miss that era might feel differently, though, and I must admit that when Z Cars struck up on Saturday I did say that it's a pity that there are no words to sing along with.

 

By the Moody Blues, actually. Maybe you know something about next season's away strip?

Just because people don't like them doesn't mean they shouldn't be given the same respect as other top football anthems like Hey Baby (World Cup Remix) by DJ Otzi and 'It's All So Quiet' by Bjork.

As much of a clamour as there is for this, I don't need my ego padded with adulation from the fans. Save it for the team. Sending the opposition home with nothing for their tea. We are the greatest team in histor-history.

 

I'd thought about this before the game and was hoping they wouldv'e gone for Gold - at the very least everyone could have joined in the chorus with the Ighalo chant which would hav ebeen infinitely better than humming along to Z Cars...

The rest of the lyrics to 'Gold' are a bit obscure though. I mean at one point he sings These are my salad days. I'm not sure some of our fans have ever encountered a salad.

This forum is not all about you. In fact it's nothing at all about you. Certainly not your personal likes or dislikes.

That said

I relate to totally. From the first to the last time I saw Watford live (79-00) and continuing to the present day GT and Z Cars have been constants. Whine about the names of the SEJ and GOD stands too if you want to whine about Z Cars. Going forward does not equate to erasing everything historical about our club.

If we are going to close threads on the basis that it's covering ground covered before can we close all the ones about QSF, FF and Vydra now?

Might I suggest people use the search tools before creating new threads exactly the same as old threads.

The Z-Cars them has been done to death so many times it gets boring. It also illicits arguments and slanging matches that I can't be bothered to censor any more.

Threads in this section link to automated social media postings which generate new members. Without new members we don't get the advertising revenue to run this place.

I'm sorry if you disagree but we need to keep it sensible, on top and fresh in this section.

I've explained my moderating decision I won't get into whether people agree or disagree with it.

Didn't see a single slanging match in at least the last 5 years...I have definitely seen major and far worse slanging matches on threads that were not closed.

Do the lyrics have to be in any way football-related? If not, I think either the Beatles' Here Comes the Sun or the Kinks' Victoria would be good, arousing match day songs.
