anyone interested in putting a £100 each into a forum syndicate to use for serious wagering against the bookies and profits shared equally?

Not just footie but some people some to have expertise in various betting arenas - bring the knowledge together.

Just an idea and a bit of serious fun.

I'd consider it but would be funds be held jointly?

    berkshirehorn presumably I upset/disappointed someone

i'd consider it too if we'd be benefitting from some of the forum's experts.

The idea is that its not just a gambling club - betting for the sake of betting. For example - berkohorn posted on the forum in early december i think when the anouncement of 22nd dec deadline for administartion, that corals were still offering 25/1 for wfc to be relegated. Now that was unfounded value even if we didn't have a 10pt deduction.

So people with a vision and understanding of odds and value with a bit of expertise in something or other - maybe golf, politics tennis, snooker, stock market spreads - anything that has a bet attcehed it to and can give the reason why the bet is value and worthwile - so that the syndicat can agree as a unit to place the bet.

The do's and don'ts can be ironed out when the syndicate is formed.

It is not fo placing, i fancy bets becasue i think Reading are shyte w e will win, i feel it.

For serious bets to gain an advantage on the odds for starters with back up as to why its a value bet.

So i doubt there are that many people who would be eligible anyway.

There may not even be a bet for weeks.

I'd also suggest that if admin was involved he could be he banker, he hs shown his worth as a banker.

A betfiar of daqs account would be required as well in order to take any decnt arbs and or to lay to a profit in running to make any result a winner.

Would suggest just 4 or 5 people.

It sounds like a good idea PYA, and yes I'd be interested, but what concerns me is the need to move quickly when an opportunity is spotted. If Berkohorns find meant all of us had to be contacted and agree, it would probably be gone by then.

re admins comment about contact, if its a small group no more than 4 or 5 I don't think it will be an issue.
Colin, Perry and myself already know each other and have email, mobiles between us etc, easy to add a couple more etc

I'd be happy to take part but unlikely that I can offer much "expert" information other than seeing a bit of value occasionally.

I would also be happy if PYA held the funds and had the "authority" to trade up to a certain percentage of the funds if we needed to move quickly.

Getting value also needs accounts with most of the major bookies. Hopefully between the participants we would have most of them covered?

    Ditto the first paragraph.

    Ditto the 2nd too.

I have accounts at all of them due to my matched betting days, but am seriously limited at Bet365 and Boyles.

For the odd times that may happen - and bear in mind it was a long term bet, there could be an upper limit of say 5% of the pool allowed by any individual - he walks into the betting shop concerned or if online in his own account and places the bet - this could actually be fixed at a £?? amount - we can discuss this in greater detail as how we do this over beers and chinese tea in my case.. Remember the people who will be in this will only be people who have shown some proper knowledge of the betting system.

I have no accounts anywhere, though i use betfair via a friends name. To be honest, with the playing the poker tournies now regualary - i do not really bet much at all maybe just a bit of fun on the footie - but always look out for the value stand out bets.

The other point to make is that due to the types of bets we are going for, if a loss is made it needs to be accpeted and move on - no pish taking or mood strops, no inhouse fistycuffs ( remember shyte happens, bad beats et al) - accept that we can lose.
