Seen today on BBC that 5 clubs are showing an interest in Billy Sharp with Norwich having made a bid. This could mean two things, we're one of the interested parties what with the asking price of around £2M (plus add-ons) being well within our budget. It could also mean, and i'd prefer this one, that Earnshaw could be on his way out of Carrow road and i'd be delighted if we were looking at him.
I'd have Earnshaw over Sharp any day. If we do sign Earnshaw or a striker of his quality then we really need to off-load a couple! Otherwise we'll be like Colin's Sheff Utd! I'd offer Kabba and Henderson to Norwich plus £2,500,000 for RE. Deal or No Deal?
That is the forward line i've wanted to see since we've been linked with him! Earnshaw is a proven scorer at this level...that being in a poor Norwich side aswell! He'd get the supply here playing with King. If they both stayed fit they could score 50 between them!
Both players are good and i'm sure Sharp will do a good job for a team next season (unless he is another Sam Parkin) but i'd much rather have Earnshaw because he has proven himself in the Premiership as well.
It would mean that our two wingers would be waisting a lot of their time, neither are fantastic in the air. My guess would be someoone fast strong and good in the air.
2mil plus kabba for sharp would be the deal of the season not cos sharp that great but kabba will have gone.
I would of thought we would be going for a big powerful forward. As someone pointed out if Earnshaw and King upfront who will score with there head?? King only scored 1 goal with his head in the championship.
I think maybe a clue to Norwich's bid for Billy Sharp was an interview Earnshaw gave whilst on International duty in Wales last weekend. Basically he said he was desperate to play in the Prem and it very much came across as a "come and get me" plea. In view of Norwich's financial position I think it unlikely they would be able to pay the £2million plus for Sharp without selling Earnshaw (especially as their Manager is on record as saying they need 3 or 4 new signings in the summer). Based on Earnshaws interview I think it unlikely he would consider us unless there is no interest from Prem clubs.
I would be suprised if sharpe leaves scunthorpe for another CCC team unless its silly money they get offered. We would have to unload some strikers if we were going to sign him but I dont think we will even make a bid.

Earnshaw would be a great buy hes proven over the years. Not so sure about Billy Sharp - any one remember Trevor Senior???
that would leave us with king, priskin, earnshaw, ashikodi and hoskins, good enough selection for championship yes, but we would need to add to it if we were promoted.

Yep but whos to say we didnt bid for him back in Jan and baulked at the price? £4million for Earnshaw ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM and not a penny more! Somehow I dont see him joining any of the promoted clubs nor any of those already in the Prem... Fulham at an absolute push and possibly Wigan but thats it!
Give Hoskins a chance. He may turn out to be lethal striker in the Championship. Remember he's only played a handful of games.
Sharp is quality and i'd welcome him to the club (though Earnshaw is the 'established' name and for that reason i'd favour him). However i agree that Hoskins should be given a go - he could be a secret weapon because no one (inlcuding us!) knows what his style is like
Um... Priskin isn't quality. In CCC, Hendo and King would still poop on most backlines. With an Earnshaw/H/ whatever kind of player up there too, it would be immense. Hoskins, IMO, will come good. Things look rosy. We need to drop the deadweight.
The deadweight for me os Ashikikodi and Kabba both of which i hope go. Ashikodi i would pref like to see him on a season long loan.
