The question is will he be brave enough to keep Eustace out of the side when he recovers? Not getting to excited about the result tbh everyone has been saying that it wasn't working having two defensive minding central midfielders playing, as they had been calling for Bauben to start. It's not like they were the most innovative tactical changes! The next few games will be interesting. Definitely no way Dyche is getting the sack any time soon

I bet Bas and co will be pleased for once a Family day went well on the pitch with a cracking game generall and us scoring 3 goals to win.

Must say Prine Buaben looked very assured and the NN chappie did well.

****inson was caught out for both goals it seems but hey we've had enough to moan about this season so enjoy the win!

(Just as well considering other results)

No, Dyche is not yet a fantastic manager. Read the other comments on here from the people who went. All positive, all about how well we played and you are the only person who seems to think that Peterborough are crap. Boro are one of the best attacking sides in the league, end of and judging by the comments we deserved the win and played extremely well.

Feet on the ground, must win game against Brighton, not least to put 'Caskey' in his place.

Prince looks like the creative midfielder we've been crying out for. Looks like he could play with Hogg or Eustace. Hogg had his best game for us today, probably because he blends better with Prince.

I've never been a Nosworthy fan and was appalled when we signed him, but he looked very assured today - our best defender.

Just got to say, and I know i've been a key advocate of the Dyche out campaign - but he impressed me today. The subs were spot on, we actually looked like we had tactics - and everything just clicked. He's no long term answer, but sacking him right now is not the right option, and GT informed me there's no chance of it happening anyway - he as predicted mentioned his run at Lincoln!

Buaben and Iwelumo were terrific, and I actually think Yeates had his most consistent game in a Watford shirt. I hate to say it, but Nosworthy was superb, and actually more effective than Taylor had been! Not having Doyley and Eustace seemed to give us greater control in possession, and I thought Marv show glimpses of his unbelievable potential.

Great game of football, and fair play to ****o for apologising to the fan he had a fracas with, after both goals, half time, and full time!

    Roll on Tuesday.

That felt like watching Watford for the first time this season. We harried, chased, got stuck in and stifled them brilliantly in the 2nd half. The first half was great entertainment, the second was a good solid job well done.

Iwelumo was superb and worked incredibly hard.
Sordell looked sharp again and had a great game, apart from the dying swan act in the box trying to get a penalty.
Yeates showed again what he is capable of. He was class and his free kick that hit the bar had teh keeper rooted.
Hodson looked solid as did Nosworthy, especially considering it was their first starts of the season.
****o was caught out for the first goal, but anybody blaming him for the second is a bit stupid in my opinion. Forsyth was totally at fault and for me he was the only one in a yellow shirt to have a poor game.
****o also shouldn't have been drawn in to mouthing off at the ********s giving him abuse in the LR - he should be mature enough to ignore it.
Prince was superb. Great energy, good vision, he looked very calm on the ball and worked hard when we weren't in posession. He was exactlyw hat we needed.

Fair play to Dyche for getting it right today, if he can follow it up with a win against a very out of sorts Brighton on Tuesday it will give me a lot more hope.

****o wasnt at fault for the second goal?

When a cross comes in from the opposite flank its the job of the full back to make sure these no one coming in behind him, ****o got drawn towards the ball and left Sinclair free at the back post.

A very entertaining match. Watford could have scored 2 or 3 more, and so could Posh. I think we edged it on chances, although Posh had more possession. Some really good performances today. Sordell was lively and showed some real moments of class. Yeates was excellent early on, but faded before being taken off. I'm surprised Iwelumo is getting so much praise, as I saw him as the weak link up front. He did win more headers than usual, but his movement and anticipation is terrible. He had a great chance to make it 4-2, but totally missed the ball. Forsyth looked lightweight again too, and ****inson had a stinker. Was at fault for both goals, and got done in the second half when Peterborough almost scored near the end. Nosworthy played very well and looks like a good loan signing. Loach made a couple of smart saves, but had no chance with either goal. Hogg and the Prince looked decent in midfield, and Dyche seemed to sort out the defence at half time. Overall a very enjoyable afternoon.

just thought I would throw this out there! A lot of people are saying SD got it right today, but would he have done so if the changes weren't forced on him by the Doyley, Eastace and Beatie injuries???

You called it right. We looked a different side today.

Let's not beat around the bush, there is still work to do, and a lot of times we were very static.

But we pressed, we passed generally well and we looked a threat going forward.

Prince and Hogg seems to work and both had a good game, I think Prince has to be a regular feature and think he would play well with Eustace or Jenkins in place of Hogg. Prince MOM.

****o and Forsyth struggled (rarely for ****o)

I was impressed with Nyron and think he could become a regular... but do we drop Mapps or Taylor for him?

    Sorry..talking about the wrong incident.

    Agreed Hodson looked very composed.

He got very aggressive with a fan that had given him some stick, used a lot of french - and spat at the ground in front of him. But to be fair to him, after both our 3rd goal, at half time, and then again at the full time whistle he sprint over, apologised and fist pumped. On the note if ****o, yes he was **** in the first half - actually was pretty good in the second half.

Who saw if the ball went over the line for a "goal" in the second half? It looked like it did to me, but I didn't have the best angle.

Since when is it the job of the left winger to mark the opposition Striker?

When the ball is crossed from our right flank its the left back's job to make sure no one gets loose at the back post. When the ball is crossed from our left its the right back's job to do the same thing.

Doyley is notorious for making this mistake but it was ****o who made it today

That is the million dollar question! Regardless of personell though the players seemed far more up for it today and like they wanted to really get at Posh and try to make things happen so whatever was said before the game he did get them going.

Have to disagree here, he was certainly better but he still allowed Boyd to breeze past him inside the area late on, luckily for us he got the finish all wrong and it went out for a throw in!

Forsyth was tracking back to defend the cross

I see your point he wasnt marking Sinclair but thats not his job, Iwelumo/Sordell/Buaben etc. werent marking Sinclair either but its irrelevant, it was ****inson job as left back to defend the far post when the opposition crossed from our right and he didnt do his job

Whenever I see what I think is a dodgy offside or goal line clearance I always look over to the people in the Rous to see their reaction. There wasn't much of one so I presume the lino got it right.

  29. leighton buzzard horn

He wasn't doing a very good job of tracking back! You only needed to see the glares he got from Mariappa and ****o to see how unhappy they were with him and his head dropped completely after that. The FLS won't show enough of the build up for you to try and understand why Forsyth was at fault for the goal, but his defensive work was lacking today in a big way.

  30. IRB

IRB THe artist formally know as ImRonBurgundy?

Dont worry, you wont see me defending Forsyth today, he doesnt support ****inson at all and he doesnt get up or down the pitch quick enough.

He could have been quicker to get back and if he was he might have been able to bail out ****inson for leaving a striker free at the far post, doesnt change the fact that ****inson should have been aware of where Sinclair was

Forgot about that, I wasn't sure if it was a cross or crap shot - on that note, how **** poor was Boyd compared to the hype about him? Always wondered why he was still there.. now I know why. Frecklington and Taylor looked very good players though.

Yep, Taylor in particular was class, he reminds me of Cleverley in appearance and style

Bit of a random comment as well but in the warm up shooting practice I thought Bond looked brilliant, certainly better than Gilmartin
