1st July - Big Day Tomorrow?

So, are we expecting disappointment and still no official news about last seasons loanees or new signings, or can we see a cluster of signings being announced upon the official opening of the transfer window and the first proper day of pre-season?

Would love something similar to last season where we announced all those signings at once.

I think we all just need to be a little patient. Good things will happen in time, no point getting worked up about when they will get announced.

We know the Pozzo's will give us a squad capable of competing with the best teams in the league, so no point getting worked up if they do not happen straight away.

 

I reckon/hope it will be the announcement of

1- Abdi, Ekstrand, Anya, Battochio, Cassetti, Pudil 1 year permanent contracts ( as rumoured)
2-Permanent signing of Angella on a 5 year (as rumoured)
3- Acuna , Faraoni on 1 year loan
4-Mention that there are several other signings underway.

But as someone said previously, I have faith that the Pozzos are going to sort us out with an incredible squad that will be capable of winning the title.

 

Surely we will give them longer contracts, otherwise we may end up with them all leaving on frees.

 

It wouldn't surprise me if the delay was down to working out which players are and are not willing to go. In situations where players can play in multiple positions, some of the moves depend on who else is going.

I'm sure there are multiple players earmarked for each position from the Pozzo group alone, never mind other clubs.

Where has that been rumoured?! Absolutely no chance in that happening! Anyway, tomorrow does seen likely, however I won't be disappointed if it doesn't happen yet, that's just pointless impatience.

 

Remember there will no doubt be inevitable delay in the League approving every signing including the loans.

 

There will also be players that don't fancy it long term ... 5 year in our climate or that of Northern Italy. No brainer unless there's a big incentive.

 

Although it's the official opening, I wouldn't expect things to happen all at once. I reckon it'll be a slow progression of news coming over the next few weeks if i'm honest. Doesn't bother me though. The squad is in Italy, i'm assuming the majority of players staying on from last season will probably be training with us anyway... probably just a case of getting everyone together and seeing what can be done over the next couple of weeks.

 

Maybe not tomorrow but it should be a very interesting month or two again.

 

Its highly likely Acuna will be confirmed and possibly Izpeazu from Reading. It'll be interesting to see weather there was any pre-contract signings - these could also be announced tomorrow. July will certainly be interesting but we might have to be patient.

 

The 5 years contracts help the Pozzo's get the maximum price when selling the player. I'd be surprised if any of them stayed for 5 years.

 

We should be patient regardless. These will be announced soon, have no doubt about it at all. We don't need to pi$$ any one off by announcing our signings outside the window. It will be interesting to see if there are any pictures tomorrow on twitter from the players around the training camp.

 

I've got 3 yoghurts going off tomorrow. Will certainly be a big day in my house.

Anya still has a year left on his contract so why will he take a year contract, think it may be 3 years.

Rumours of an announcment of some sort tonight between 8:30 and 9:00pm. Only heard on the grapevine but thought I would post it here.

nah i was just told by someone that they heard there would be official announcement from the club tonight. no idea if true or what its about.

As far as an announcement tonight? I'm skeptical, that's due to how the club announces things though, although I'd love it if there was one.

 

How it seems to be done is by rumours on twitter, comments on udinese website or udinese blog with Wobby and the club trailing behind.
