Here's eleven more: #watfordfc XI v Ipswich: Gomes (GK); Motta, Cathcart, Ekstrand, Hoban; Tozser, Watson, Layun; Guedioura; Ighalo, Deeney (c).
Even though Eddie Howe brings a whole new meaning to the word smug,I fear they will win the title. I only saw the first half today but they made Boro look very average, not many teams have done that this season, bar Arsenal. Happy to be proved wrong.
They have probably the weakest squad but unfortunately by far the best manager. The same thing happened with Burnley last season. Remind me who we sacked in 2012?
I think they will be crowned champions... on another level from the dross served up at the vic today.
That dive for their 3rd is poor. How they get so lucky with refs is beyond me. Even the first penalty given is debatable. But TWO debatable penalties in one game. What can you do against that?
Hopefully Ipswich do a job on them because Millwall, Wigan and Blackpool are really distancing themselves for the rest. If the relegation places are tied up then everyone from 20th to 9th will be easy games. Birmingham, Reading, Brighton, Sheff Wed, Bolton & Charlton. Bournemouth could feasibly romp to the title and hit 90 points whilst they're at it. How annoying.
Sometimes teams with nothing to play for can surprise you. Charlton have lost one of their last six, and Leeds are on a five game unbeaten run. Birmingham's loss today was their first in five, beating Brentford and drawing with Derby during that time. Cardiff drew with Bournemouth the other day. I don't think any of those four have had anything to play for. Bournemouth will drop points during that time.
Agree. They are probably all still on goal bonuses, win bonuses, and possibly final position bonuses.
"Yes there doesn't appear to be any contact but it was awarded and we won 3-0 that is the important thing"
Sky obviously cut away before he got a chance to say "that's not the sort of thing we want to see from our players. I'll be having a word with the lads to cut that sort of thing out". Or more likely "we'll do some work on making our dives look more convincing!"
Just watched the FLS. Didn't see Muff v Boro earlier. It really is Fall-over-on-Sea isn't it? And all over the pitch too. How are refs unable to see that it is a blatant tactic and start to question each incident more because of that a la Chelsea? It's obviously tolerated and encouraged at the top. Personally I hope an arsonist sets fire to their stupid little ground. And while he's at it he can do the Kennel at a reduced job-lot rate too.
2 reasons why theres a good chance they will. 1. They are top and keep winning. 2. They've scored more goals than anyone else.
I would actually be quite happy for Bournemouth to go up (ideally not at our expense). When you have friends who support a certain club you tend to look more kindly upon them - well, I do, at least.
Personally I think they're consistently the best footballing team in the division and it's a good thing that a small, previously unrecognised club are right up there. It would be hard to imagine them losing a game in the way that we did yesterday (without a shot on target - not the last minute fiasco). Unfortunately, they compromise all that goodwill by systematically cheating week in, week out and it seems to go unrecognised by officials, commentators and pundits alike. So stuff 'em.
I tend to find the opposite. I get a great deal of pleasure from rubbing my mates noses in it any time their team isn't doing the business.
That's true, it depends on who does it first. That said, my Bournemouth friend is a very good sport - he and I both went to the 6-1 game last season and he couldn't have been more polite about it.
I don't mind them, rather see them up in the Premiership than Derby, Boro, Ipswich etc. who have all been there before.
Reason 12 : They are making moves to sign Kenwyne Jones from Cardiff today. Doesn't seem to compliment there style of football, seems a bit of an odd one for me. Maybe it's just to give them an extra option but doesn't seem like a direct replacement for Wilson Seen some reports saying Kenwyne Jones is on 37k @ Cardiff - it's obvious why they're trying to off load until the close season.
I agree Jones is an odd one for AFC B but most of the fans on the Cardiff forum that I read think Slade has been tasked with reducing the wage bill. Not a case of "Merry Christmas Mr Slade' then!
Yeah I can certainly understand why Cardiff are reducing their wage bill. FFP has affected few teams this year already so it's a necessary move by them. Not sure he fits the bill for Bournemouth but only time will tell I suppose
Tan is going to asset strip Cardiff this summer both because he wants his money back and also as a kind of punishment for the Cardiff fans for making him turn them back to blue.
The worst part of Bournemouth being promoted is that Sky will find it extremely difficult to market Man City vs Bournemouth to Asian and Middle Eastern audiences. Could this be then end of the most exciting league in the world???
