...the officials closed. So while there's a few moans about moved threads and a few other digs today, does anyone remember what the 5 forum areas where on the old now long dead boards?
General Watford where we could discuss the days news be it a Prem club a local rival or the previous nights international match without selective deleting or moving of threads.

Well thanks to you Admin, and I think I speak for most on here when I say, that hardly any of us miss it. And had it not closed many of us would not have found this far superior forum. Well done Admin you are doing a great job.
How things have changed in a year. Now I don't live in Manchester and have a different job, how times change! This board is good though. Hats off to you Admin.
Without the mods, past and present, we'd never have made 6 months let alone a year. They do a superb job and I'd like to publicly thank them all.
The Official Boards. Due to no PM Tring,PYA, Birdydoug, Smelly, Mean and other cronies would take over the board on where to meet on a match day. . . obviously hadn't heard of email/mobile phone all that time ago The bans were long also, i can remember being banned for 3 months at one time. I would like to add i never created 'other' accounts like so many others did after not being able to get their 'fix' from the 'fishal boards.

official boards:dismay: got banned once and the reason was a quote from me saying "bring it on." Heard about these forums on the train back from Newcastle off another memeber on here.
Not sure what your point is but we managed a coach to Leicester crammed full with message board users and regular meets at various pubs both home and away. Not happening now is it! No we didnt use PM, e-mails or mobiles - we used a message board for exactly what it was designed for. Dont think we took the board over or do you have other issues as to how we use the boards?
Tring has a point. People used to say things like, 'I'm going to be in this pub with X, Y and Z before the game if anyone wants to join us'. These days the posts are more likely to say, 'We're drinking in the Brown Bear but don't tell anyone because we don't want them joining us.'
The point is Rich is that Watford Away is openly critical of how we used to organise our trips and meetings via the official board. Maybe his attitude has closed the door to many and now we just do our own thing irrespective of any forum. I admit that I have met and regularly travel with people that I met via the official board but its interesting that very few post nearly as regularly as they used to. Maybe Watford Away should consider how he expresses his opinions and accept that both this board and the official board has its uses without criticising individual members and the way they use the forums.
