Tomorrow is a big game for us! Stoke win it and we're a point clear, but also have Stoke just 3 points behind us! We need a big christmas...we need to take maximum points from the next 5 to 6 games to get another big gap IMO.
It is , but if we are to go up as champions we should not be relying on the results of others around us to help us. P.S I was hoping Leicester would hold on
Colchester hammered by Cardiff today. Puts our midweek win a little in perspective. We are still leaking too many goals and until this stops we will struggle. Stoke will be a big test but they do have two key players out thro suspension and injury. Forecast a score draw.
Another impressive performance by Burnley.. From what I have heard Wolves are not playing well but been nicking 1-0 wins.
Correct! Burnley look quality! Blake, Gray, Lafferty and Elliott are dragging them all over the pitch and creating all kinds of problems! May lump a few quid on Burnley to go up via the play-offs! They also look solid at the back...although I never really rated Carlise, we may have sold him a season too early judging by his performance tonight and against us! He's looked very impressive!
Absolutely. The forthcoming fixtures are all ones we should be taking maximums from if we hope to be champions. Unfortunately, with the way we continue to ship goals, I still think we are vulnerable, even if we are able to hit the onion sack ourselves. Maybe we should look at playing with O'Toole, Francis and Willo in midfield, with Smith the only out and out winger (as we ended the match on Tues). Might give us some more solidity, with options on the bench, if we need to change things.
I wouldn't mind seeing something like this tomorrow... ------------ Lee -------------- - Doyley Shittu DeMerit Stewart - Smith O'Toole Williamson McAnuff ----------- Francis ------------- ------------ King --------------
I'd agree, but I personally think Muff is poor value for a starting position. I don't think he's looked at all threatening when he's played. He's better as a sub IMHO
Maybe get Ainsworth out on the right and switch Smithy to the left then? And what makes you say that?
It would have been a complete injustice if they had. The Leicester goal appeared to result from a blatant foul on the goalkeeper.
Backed wba to win in my five fold with MK Dongs, Hereford, Charlton and tomorrows game with Bolton and Wigan. permed 4 from 5 and one accy. i don't care if wba are a point behind us. our results are down to us, if we lose its our fault and don't deserve to go up. with the squad we have it is in our own hands.
More to the point, with the position we are in it is in our hands. It is ours to lose. If West Brom win all their remaining matches (including home against us) and we win all ours apart from the Hawthorns, we are still Champs. We have put ourselves in a wonderful position, where despite our best efforts in November the division has conspired to keep us top. We have to start playing at 100% now (rather than the 30% we have seen of late). We have only really played well in a handful of games now and need to be delivering that week in and out from here on in.
I am more concerned about our how far we keep ahead of third place rather than second. If we maintain a healthy cushion over the play-off zone over the rest of the season then it matters not whether West Brom are behind us by 1 point, goal difference, or even ahead come May (although it would be a nice bonus to win the division given that it still remains the only one below the top flight we haven't won).
huge game tomorrow, if we win we could build on two wins and crack on with a good run over xmas. if we lose its another set back, another confidence blow and if it leads to a bad xmas we could of dropped considerably by january. I reckon watford win 2-1
