No, it definitely isn't. And what's the issue with the post anyway? It's far more coherent than a meme that had a circulation counted in the tens of people.

Reading this, people must surely understand why it’s hard not to treat people with the sarcasm they deserve.

Because it doesn’t acknowledge that Gino is only talking because a campaign from a podcast got 17 retweets. Keep up.

Fair enough but with respect if you use the handle of enjoy the game it’s a logical conclusion as it’s been associated with the said person for years within social media.

Heads of Comms at the club. Probably best known to most fans as the gravelly sounding chap who hollers down the mic at home games occasionally or interviewing players/staff for the website.

Can I logically assume that you are every member of Amersham County Council/Cricket Club on the same proviso?

Bit late to start talking about respect as well given your initial response.

Anyway, to clarify – I think the various podcasters, YouTubers, fan groups etc *should* absolutely have input. They all care deeply about the club. But 'regular' supporters should have a chance to pose questions too. Who knows, there may be fans who do not have any public profile or social media output who have very smart, sensible questions to ask.

My point was that all the questions should be gathered together centrally, selected for relevance (perhaps by a group of people) but then posed by one person with a sense of clarity and purpose so it isn't just a scattergun thing. Basically the way a serious news interview would be conducted, but with questions selected from a broader range of people.

And it's absolutely nothing to do with having a grudge against the hierarchy whatsoever. It's about opening up a meaningful dialogue between supporters and the club in order to convey to the owner that, actually, his right to run the club in a silent, virtually unaccountable way has run its course, for the time being at least, until there is at least some sort of explanation regarding the current direction and future strategy.

Support, generally, also means holding the people who own and run the club to account – just as your best friends will occasionally tell you a tough, perhaps unpalatable, home truths from time to time.

It didn’t get 17 re-tweets last week on Twitter it was everywhere on many different threads. Who cares anyway what has activated the recent comms. It should be seen as a positive thing. For me looking at everything you write you want to belittle it and just make fun out of it being totally sarcastic. We should unite as a fanbase not be at civil war. What has been said has to be a good thing as it’s better than what we currently have. Be constructive please, I beg you. Stop the sarcasm and be forward thinking.

It's the name of a book I wrote more than 13 years ago, and before that it was a slogan from the front page of the match programmes in the early 1980s. It pre-dates the Facebook group. Logical conclusions aren't always necessarily right, especially if you jump to conclusions.

You’re Lionel Birnie, fair enough say you are then. I apologise. However on social media the ETG handle is associated to the name previously outlined within the thread. I actually thought your words within the recent Oli Phillips pod tribute were lovely and I very much enjoyed your book and the book by the great man GT which you were very involved in.

A little bit like saying everyone called Robert Maxwell stole the pension money, but I appreciate the apology! Thanks.

I don't think that @EnjoytheGame is in any way related to 'Shorty.'

I just think he's someone who enjoys games.

No you’re a good guy. I have really truly enjoyed your work. Clear case of mistaken identity as I won’t move from the position that within social media today, ETG is associated with the other person.

With respect, read this reply you have sent to me - and then see how you replied to EnjoyTheGame member and tell me you applied the same logic?

Sorry but I don’t have much time for you if you’re going to talk about respect and belittling others when it suits you, whilst engaging in that behaviour yourself literally a few posts before.

And it didn’t get anywhere near the traction you are suggesting. I don’t say the following to belittle you, genuinely - but please do some work on understanding media campaigns etc.

The DNSYE campaign was noble in its ask - and behind it was a statement we have all asked for. But its reach and effectiveness in reality was nothing more than a flea among a herd of elephants. The club are acting because they have a duty to do so according to a he rules and have been reported for not adhering to it. That’s the truth whether you want to believe it or not,

When is this event in any case?

Scenes when Pozzo looks the questioner in the eye and smugly retorts “don’t you use debt when you run YOUR business? Simply good husbandry. Next question please.”

I’m afraid you are just a sceptic and nothing will please you. Everything I read from you as you’re all over this channel is sarcastic, belittling, negative, cynical and not constructive at all. We need to unite. I prefer not to take the cynical view with its being done as they have to as EPL request this. It could be, you are right. However that thought is negative, negativity gets you nowhere. Let’s be positive and think until proved otherwise that it has been made with good grace. Nobody knows how it’s going to be executed yet. When you’ve seen the outcome judge then, anything detrimental against the current position is nothing other than premature and I can’t understand why you can’t see this.

To be fair, the Premier League and EFL rules say that all clubs will hold at least two fans forum type events each season so they are required to do something. It's not being overly cynical to say that the club has agreed to do one simply because they haven't met the criteria rather than because of a desire to be open and transparent.

When was the last one? I can't remember? I remember the one well before lockdown when they unveiled plans for the consultation on changing the badge. That must've been 2018. Has there been one since lockdown?

They had that disastrous meeting of the great and the good at the start of the season that resulted in the person who organised it leaving the club, such was the backlash. I guess that counted as 1 of the 2.
