As was discussed the last time I posted one of his articles on us, yes, he is very much a fan. And spot on, as ever.

I came on to this thread at page 4 and assumed "body count" was a COD or "Fortnite" reference until I read back.

Probably both relevent to 15yo kids bragging about their fake conquests.

Well he'll fit right in with Pozzo's Watford. Claudio don't concern yourself with scouting and finding players, we've already done that for you. Get Dilly Dinging Dilly Donging. What's that? Defence finissimo? Just get on with it Nonno.

    Read 2 years before.

Either way he won’t have to worry how long it is - only the pay day that comes with the job.

Blimey, that's a strong statement (if true, obviously).

Yes and he was a damn decent fella who stood and chatted with my family and I for a good 30 minutes.

I'm quite surprised about the interest in one of my mates' lifestyles. Does seem a bit strange. He got married in his late 30s. You are aware that the world is a diverse place and people have different values and lifestyles right?

People who use the term "body count" are probably the same type of people who like Mrs Brown's Boys.

Apparantly some words and collocations have more than one meaning, they can even change over time. Who knew?

Why are you surprised by the interest when you gleefully brought it up, unprompted?

The world isn’t so diverse a place as to allow it to be the case that cheating on your wife literally hundreds of times, as you have implied with the replies you have given to date, makes you anything other than a despicable kunt.

Obviously, if that is in fact not the case, and he’s in a knowingly non-monogamous relationship, say, then that’s different, but again - that’s something you have so far refused to clarify - something that is itself no doubt a further bid for attention as you fall further in love with yourself as some kind of mysterious, mystic figure, leaving everyone guessing with your tall tales.

I feel sorry for u if you think a guy having a mid level body count is hard to believe. Maybe you need to raise your game.

Perhaps "The Kid" could have been kept on as an understudy for Ranieri to mentor him? With the idea of "The Kid" retaking control in a season or two having hopefully learned to be more tactically aware under Ranieri's guidance.

Something similar has happened in the past here at Watford, though with the mentor taking an overseer role behind the scenes rather than being the actual head coach. I'm Talking about Steve Burkinshaw who helped out Aidy Boothroyd.

There’s no such long-term thinking at Watford regarding managers.

We're the only Premier League club ever to sack 3 permanent managers in a season

We're the only club that seems to get stick for a manager resigning with a heart problem! As for McKinley, did that ever actually happen? I'm not convinced it did! :D

Sounds one hell of a guy doesn’t he ! I’m sure the men on this forum are now feeling wholly inadequate with their limited “body counts” based mainly on meaningful relationships and being faithful to their partner. So much we could learn from this type of alpha male.

When does Scott get questioned on his recruitment? Surely his role is to hire the right people - he obviously hasn’t for the last 5 years.

if it was anything other than football Duxbury would be being questioned

I was trying to think what you meant by this but I’ve just remembered that Ranieri had a brief sting in charge of Leicester while Craig Shakespeare learned the ropes.

A bit like Dave Bassett and Mickey Adams did for us in the early 00’s.

I think Ranieri is a wonderful human being, deserving of respect for the career he’s had at the top of the game.

He is a delegator, however. He lets his coaches and the players get to work on training and matters of discipline. At Leicester, he came into a club where the players and staff had a freakishly good bond and guided them from there.

Despite his cuddly media personality he can be dispassionate and distant from his players. During the prime of his career he worked at some massive clubs with top international players and I think he expects a level of self determination from his squad. It’s probably a good job Deeney is no longer around because Ranieri would have put far too much faith in him despite being well past it.

Sacking a manager so early in the season is obviously a signal that something isn’t going well but don’t necessarily expect turgid Pulis style football. He’ll love Sarr and let him do more or less what he wants on the pitch.

He’s a pragmatist at the end of the day, he won’t have an exact plan for Watford until he’s met the players and staff and seen them play. He’ll tweak it from there. I think that’s a good thing personally. One thing's for sure, you’ll like him as a person and he’ll make you feel special too. I loved the rapport he had with the media during his time with us and it took a lot of pressure off the players.

I had those exact thoughts about Deeney, so it’s a good job he's left as I could imagine he would’ve been reinstated. Then we’d be struggling regardless of how good a job Ranieri was actually doing, without actually knowing if he was doing a good job or not.

I wonder if Hughes and Chalobah might have been more willing to sign the new terms under Ranieri.
