Why do you apologise for sounding like me when speaking your mind, just stand up and OWN what you have to say, be a man or woman whichever you are
He's the most Irish-looking South American player currently active, beating out Alexis Mac Allister by sheer authenticity to MacAllister's red hair.
I suspect we can probably pay him better than Cagliari mind you? True but he’s mainly a CM. Can’t see him agreeing to come to us and play in an unfamiliar position. He’s making a name for himself as a midfielder so it would be a weird career move. I’d imagine if he comes (which he won’t) it’s because Chalobah/Quina are moving on. Or less likely, we are binning Louza off already.
Insanely good player and as someone else said could easily be playing for top 6 club in all the top leagues. He just never stops running. Can't see it though unfortunately.
"The versatile Uruguay international, who has 41 caps, handed in a transfer request earlier this summer after interest from Inter Milan. He impressed last season, helping keep Cagliari in Serie A, and has scored four goals and seven assists across two seasons in Italy. Nandez can play in central midfield or on the right, including right wing-back. He began his career at Penarol in his home country before a spell with Boca Juniors."
What on earth does that mean? Did we register an interest in Ronaldo as well? If it isn't today then it is never.
We may not be totally binning Louza off, but at the moment he looks miles away from starting games for us. Worry he has the same Zinkernagel issue of just not being physical enough and wanting a bit too long on the ball. We have a lot of midfielders, but only Kucka, Etebo and Sissoko (maybe Tufan?) are actually PL quality. If Cleverley, Chalobah, Quina, Gosling can be replaced and we can afford it, then we should absolutely be doing so.
It means I didn't want to sound like a berk who suggests strikers play as centre backs or vice versa.
Tufan I suspect will get games for us, Kucka, Etebo and Sissoko are all good at what they do, but Tufan (and possibly Louza, although the early signs are not great) looks to have more creativity about him. Be hard to see all of those players going, Quina might go (but he might not, one to watch), Chalobah seems unlikely but possible, but the prospect of the others leaving seems pie in the sky even if their role in the squad will be limited at best
Even though you are being insulting to me you are still apologising for sounding like me, otherwise why even say it
Marcus Gayle was superb at the back for us. Plus Paul Warhurst at Sheff Wednesday who went from CB to Striker.
And Mooney was a CB during his career as well, our own Kabaselle also used to be a striker and the list could go on
Have you just invented an apology out of thin air here? If someone said ‘I don’t want to sound like Pol Pot here, but genocide is a good idea…’ - that doesn’t make it an apology to Pol Pot.
I don't think berk is insulting but I apologise if you think that. I wasn't apologising previously, but we're just going to go round in circles about that.
David James used to play up front for Man City sometimes. Won his side a penalty I believe, the last time he led the line.
I think times have very much moved on since then. You get the odd midfielder dropping into centre back or full back, but I honestly can't remember the last time a striker or attacking player became a centre back during their professional career.
Yes Tommy was very successful in a three at the back. But I must admit I have no idea how Kabs could of been a forward There's been others over the years but my pickled brain isn't functioning.
I don't want to throw petrol on the fire, but yes, berk is VERY insulting. It comes from rhyming slang, you see. Berkshire Hunt....
I think this is another manifestation of the fact that many Serie A clubs are in very dire financial constraints due to COVID. The Pozzos are obviously well connected in Serie A so would be among the first to sniff about on any club needing to sell off assets to survive. That doesn't mean we have enough cash or that anything will happen. I think it just means that they're among the first to respond with "Wait, what? WHO is available? How Much!?!?" Probably followed with "Nah, too much for us"
