The SSN 'sponsored by WhatsApp' segment in which the reporter 'received a message by WhatsApp to say Mbappe is staying at PSG' and decided to discuss it with Clinton Morrison might have been the most cringeworthy piece of TV I've seen this year. And I watched 30 seconds of Gogglebox at one point.
If there's one person who could articulate the emotional struggle that goes on in a players mind over a potential deadline day move from PSG to RM for £200m or so, it's Birmingham and Crystal Palace's Clinton Morrison.
How long have we gone now without a fresh tweet about this transfer rumour that ends up in pidgin English after a mangling by google translate?
I've only skimmed the thread so far, but I'm not happy with the lack of flightradar posts in here. Thought thats how we passed the time on deadline day usually? Any private jets coming into L*ton airport from Italy?
A friend just said he saw him walking out of the Cagliari Airport Lateral Flow Covid Test Centre, feverishy refreshing his email inbox on his iphone. Apparently with an easyjet "extra legroom" ticket in his other hand. May just be coincidental ?
This wont happen - he was touted as going to Inter and Spurs a week or so ago ..... he aint coming to us
He has been on Talksport once and is on again at 10 so isn't missing out on his favorite day of the year.
Apparently Cagliari wanted nearly £9m for a loan fee and an obligation for a further £17m from Inter Milan less than a week ago - so even if we are interested, I can see how we can afford it.
Playing Devil's Advocate...maybe Inter have moved on, but Cagliari are still desperate and will accept any old offer now? Or maybe that figure is ******** lol
Maybe - but I doubt Cagliari are going to lower that significantly to the point it becomes possible for us!
Cagliari would have known Inter have the £93m Lukaku money so no doubt would have pushed for as much as they could. Not sure how accurate Transfer Market is but they value him at £19m Maybe £6m + £10/11m would be more realistic...when we stay up.
I assume it is a bit of a case of Cagliari wanting to cash in but they overvalued the player early in the window. His agent is presumably now desperate to get a move as he has made clear his intentions to leave. Probably a bit too expensive for us in a position we dont desperately need reinforcement, but maybe it was an attempt for an opportunistic deal rather than one we needed.
The answer to this is generally 'not at all'. Go and take a look at Sarr's current 'market value' for some indication.
I think this is true of the vast majority of deals we do, need or not, isn't it really (and I don't say that in a way that's meant to greatly disparage the Ponzo - given our financial situation and looking at who we've brought in it's been fairly prudent) They're like me in almost all my clothes shopping - I'm always watching for sales and almost never buy outside them, so I get a good wardrobe with a lot of the things I want, but I may have to have tracked the item for several weeks or months before it happens, or equally I might get it in a colour other than the one I would choose, in an ideal world...
Didn't Scott Duxbury say that he expected bargains at the end of the window as clubs become desperate for cash?
Ahh those halcyon days of youthful and innocent love. It all went downhill when we fell for that cheating harlot Iturbe who then turned out to have syphillis.
