I'd rather we gave Hungbo a go than signed Christie. A 29 year old 'meh' player who doesn't have any outstanding qualities.
Which gives me the opportunity to tell the favourite story of how Bernie Winters was appearing at the Glasgow Empire, his routine being greeted with total silence. After ten minutes, on comes his brother Mike. At which point an audience member pipes up, "Bloody hell, there's two of them".
Of course I know. I didn't have the exact land % splits to hand. Apologies if you were confused by my generalisation.
That’s odd, I was in a taxi on the way to Kyrenia and the driver said there would be a checkpoint in Nicosia before we drove into the Turkish half.
As you can see from a map, it's clearly not half in terms of land mass. Just over 1/3 of the island. Wiki: "The Republic of Cyprus is only on the southern two-thirds of the island (59.74%). The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is the northern third (34.85%) and rest are Akrotiri and Dhekelia owned by the British."
That’s taxi drivers for you - either exaggerating in their conversations, or if they don’t think your a local, taking you by the longer route.
Doesn't look like we'll be signing Christie (thankfully). He's training with Birmingham City, although Eustace is saying he's just helping out a couple of friends to gain some fitness. I'm sure there will be some type of deal on offer though somewhere along the line. I don’t think he’d back a bad option, personally. I know that opinion doesn’t seem to be held by many.
Is Laird worse? Or have we been linked with someone else? Edit: nvm, seen your post on the other thread. I said above I didn’t think Christie would be a bad signing
Like everyone else that’s not joining Notts Forest, he’s off to Hull. Would’ve taken him here in all honesty.
A few weeks ago I’d have turned my nose up at this, now I don’t think we will do any better (if we sign anyone in that position at all) Farce of a window
I guess we'll stick with Ngakia, the guy Hull didn't want. I don't mind Ngakia really but I don't think he's a wing back, however he can move so he's a better option than Gaspar.
