Well I care, it makes a difference to me. I want Watford to get promoted this season and be in the prem. league. Success for Watford (IMO) is being in the prem league. Who the players are and how long the manager has been here is irrelevant to me, Watford FC is more important to me then any single player or manager I hear a lot of talk of "identity" and "culture" , etc. These cliches only come out when the going gets tough. I want promation this year, and hopefully, a sustained period in the prem. We have done it before, so we can do it again
That's great, I think you're living in dreamworld as there's only one way we're heading under this clown, but we'll agree to disagree.
So if GT was alive now, in charge, but had us mid-table...you'd support his sacking in favour of getting to the PL? Also - they aren't 'cliches'....they are the fundamental things GT and Elton etc based the club upon. And there were plenty of people who were unhappy with our lack of identity even when we were in the Cup Final and competing for euro spots.
Let's be honest, with most fans today a couple of wins and no-one will give a **** what Gino's been up to.
Well no, because it's obvious I want the team to win, we won't get promoted without them, so the football part is very important.
Yes but you don’t care how we win? Who the players or the manager are, just to get to the PL? That’s really quite sad, why don’t you just support City? Wouldn’t it be easier?
For the first question, i'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean winning 4-0 or 1-0 every week, is that the question? For your second question, I will support any player wearing the golden shirt and the manager in the dugout For your final question, I have no idea what city has to do with it, where did that come from! Let me be clear as I can and I hope this can not be interpreted in any other way. I support Watford. I want Watford to achieve as much as possible. Right now, as much as possible is getting promoted to the prem. league. With the new manager we have a good chance again IMO
I genuinely wanted to know why fans like yourself insist on living in denial about the actions of our owner - I’ve never really seen you give a coherent reason, despite your claims to the contrary. And given you’ve replied elsewhere saying you don’t care who owns the club or manages it, or plays for it, you only care about being in the PL, I think it’s a lost cause trying to reason with you.
For balance, come on the draw . If you are going to do that , it might be advisable to ask permission from the bureau owner .
Don't forget a lot of WFC social media is just a handful of narcissistic weirdos on twitter and singular brain celled cavemen on the WO website. A small number of people making a lot of noise. The hysterical response to a poorly performing manager being sacked is farcical. Just sack Duxbury and Giarretta and move on, simples. There are people who watched us under Perryman and Colin Lee saying they won't keep going to games to watch players like Sarr, JP, Davis and Asprilla. Bonkers, but they are just a highly visible small minority of the fanbase. Watford fans online are feeding off each others hysteria. Its pretty weird. Dont they want us to get back in the PL and clear more of our debt? After seeing Rob's 11 games it's impossible to argue Bilic doesnt have a better chance of getting us promoted.
Very very simple , sometimes you have to lose a battle to win the war. we win a few games now things get deferred ,the can gets kicked down the road , lose a few and the faults are in the spotlight!
Agreed ,because unfortunately most folk dont think longer term ,they want the easy solution ,the fast give it to me now fix! remember if you want to build a house ,it helps if you build a solid foundation.
Ah. I can see a new narrative forming. Those That don’t get behind Pozzo are not “genuine fans” as their only goal is to be proved right and they have a dark “agenda”. The only flaw with this new political positioning is that they have already been proved right by Pozzo’s behaviour whatever happens from now on.
Who said anything about “…getting behind Pozzo”? I simply said real fans don’t want to see the team lose. Criticise and demonstrate as much as you like, but surely you still want to see the team win and do well, rather than hope they lose just to spite Gino ?? Surely your love and support for the club isn’t incompatible with hating Gino, if you do ? Especially as many, inc you and I, are concerned about the financial consequences of failing to win promotion. Are there really “fans” who want to see us fail on the pitch and possibly even fold just so they can say they were right, and because it screws Gino ???
..and other than almost certain financial Armageddon what would that achieve ? If you want Gino out, do you want to achieve that by going into administration in League one ? The best chance of getting Pozzo out of the club would be for the value of the club to rocket so he can sell us as a newly promoted club to someone with deeper pockets given he knows he can no longer provide prem level funding. He’s not going to sell us when we are worth two bob in league one.
I want us to win, but really only in so much as I think Pozzo’s ownership have brought us to the edge financially and we genuinely need another slug of premier league money. But apart from that watching Watford leaves me cold. A nasty, seedy, shady, dishonest club that I no longer associate with the club I loved. I’ll watch on Sunday but more out of morbid curiosity that anything else and if we get promoted I will breath a sigh of relief and hope it is a window for this disgraceful owner to sell up.
At the risk of getting ganged up on by the cabal of forum keyboard warriors, I’m going to say I would quite like it if Watford win. And if possible , but unlikely , win every game between now and the end of the season . In fact I would go as far to say I would like it if we won every game for the rest of my life , but would probably get a bit bored by winning then so maybe the occasional loss in the League Cup , for a laugh .
I don’t know if they prefer watching the football back then but certainly get the impression they liked us as club in those days going by the number of people saying they are “embarrassed and ashamed” to be a fan now. That might be heat of the moment emotion and frustration talking given that some were probably also critical of Edwards and the team beforehand . I do think many just want to see some stability and a core group of players able to perform and kept fit regularly. And hear from the owners or whoever rather than be left in the dark and told things then see other things happen
Fair enough, that’s your view. I will always want us to win irrespective of how I feel about the owner and how I rate the players. It’s still my team.
You couldnt blame them if they had downed tools. They seem to have properly bought into RE and the supposed project only to have the rug pulled out from under them and yet another short term appointment journeyman in charge. Speaking of Bilic, is he still waiting on a work permit? If so, whose taking training?
Bet they probably aren’t that surprised and used to it all. No doubt we will hear stories of players not happy - probably those not playing but like you say think most liked him .
I care also I want promotion as much as the next supporter it’s a great club with a proud history we don’t support Watford just for the heck of it. The club needs sustained stability on all levels and a huge bankroll if it’s ever going to sustain any length of time in the top flight. Man Utd we’re up in arms about the state of old Trafford and managerial duties since sir Alex Ferguson left now after there new appointment in manager are wreaking havoc ( sort of ) investment in players is paramount to our success cos let’s be honest without it we will continue to be there or there shouts as a side. I will support Watford whatever league they are in . Just thinking out loud no disrespect intended to anyone
All I want is a club I can be proud of! It's so far from this presently. Anyways I hope we get humiliated which is easily possible imo.
But you are happy/not bothered Edwards had gone ? Got the impression you weren’t seem particularly convinced by him - understandably.
