Amazing what a win will do to even one of our most negative posters.

Now now HBby, even you're not quite stupid enough to get away with pretending you didn't understand the tone and subtext of RS2's post

OK so let's say we get to the end of the season, Roy has done a decent job - managed to get us playing fairly well and on the very last day we stay up/go down by a whisker....
Do we just get back on our looney manager merry-go-round, or keep Roy and Ray to maintain some momentum.?
I think we should keep them on but bring in a young improving manager to work alongside them for a season...?
It's time we tried to build something rather than keep gambling on managers, so why not get Roy to help..?
I'll duck after saying this but how about Deeney under Roy for a year (if we're relegated).?

They’ll be gone regardless. Plus any new manager needs to be able to do things their way, otherwise they aren’t ready to manage.

I respect your right to this opinion, but am sickened and appalled by basically all of it.

(Having re-read I exclude the part about it being 'time to build something', which I wholeheartedly agree with - under a progressive young coach [Diego Martinez])

If Gino Pozzo considers this the right route to go, then I’ll wholeheartedly endorse it on this webzone. If he doesn’t, then I’ll give it the criticism it deserves.

Gino is always on the money regarding coaches, so we should wait and see and agree with whatever He chooses.

I like your suggestion, except for the Deeney bit.

I have posted something similar in the past about "The Kid" when I suggested that we possibly should have brought in a mentor to help him such as Roy, Uncle Claudio or even Rafa who apparently is big friends with Xisco and as he had played under him in the past.

It is not an alien concept at Watford as Aidy had Keith Burkinshaw and Bertie Mee also played a similar part in the past as well.

Credit to Hodgson for changing it up and ditching that horrid negative dreary style of football with central midfielders out on the wing. How anyone could support that is beyond me.

Isn't it strange tho that for nearly 2 seasons most of us on here have said that 433 is our best formation but it seems our managers take ages to give it a go.? (OK so with Sarr out + poor defence etc I guess that holds things back...) I guess as long as we're fluid and can go from 433 to 451 when needed its a good formation for us.?

Tbh the deeney bit was tongue in cheek although with his bullish character I can see him in management/asst coach role in a couple of years... (in a lower division)...

I think the tactic was to keep it tight and to try and nick a game 1-0
However 4-3-3 with the best balanced 3 in midfield is the way to go
I am in agreement with this

It's a great debate, but I think whether we stray up or not is crucial, so I'm going to wait to May. See what happens between now and the last game of the season.
