Was utterly wasted at Reading. Bad man-management all around with his situation last season.

I like Vydra but you can't really stamp your booties if you only score a handful of goals in a championship season? Think he needs to get his head down and nail this preseason rather than whine.

If Leicester are crazy enough to offer the reported £30 m valuation for Deeney I would not be happy having only Vydra available to fill the breach. i suspect we have seen the last of him (but would be happy to be proven wrong, as on his day he is magnificent).

    Agreed.

I like Vydra a lot as a player but he really needs to change his mentality I think. Too quick to sulk.

I genuinely think Vydra is at the very least an equally good player to Vardy & if used effectively could have the same influence. He must be a similar pace and we all know how good a finisher he is. Mazzarri is known for getting the best from forwards, so could (hopefully) be a big year for him.

Interview seems fair enough to me. Of course he was going to be disappointed being bombed out of the squad after playing an important part in the promotion, particularly to go to a Championship team. Must've been even worse when he looked back at the club and saw that three of the people who were supposed to replace him make about eight short substitute appearances between them all season.

Last line is interesting for all those who question his attitude, he's starting to work with a fitness coach in five days' time to get ready for pre-season. Hopefully, he'll get on with Mazzarri and he'll be one of several decent striking options in the squad.

True and has the advantage of not looking like Albert Steptoe.

Lacks Vardy's nasty streak. Makes him look a pretty horrible human being but a more effective footballer.

Yes, but Vydra isn't a like-for-like replacement. He needs a target man like Deeney to hold the ball up for him. He's shown that he's not a lone striker.

I'd love him back if he gets his head straight, but I don't think he'll stay as he's disaffected and we have other forwards coming in.

I'd strap him in a chair in front of a Shane Long highlights video on continuous play. Vydra has the technical ability to be as effective as Long but perhaps lacks the confidence and positional awareness, which I think should be coachable. I'd hate to see Watford abandon what should be a really valuable player.

    Agree with that.

Vydra needs to work on his attitude and work ethic which is what Vardy has in spades.

I think it all happened too quickly for him and he let it go to his head, instead of working hard to improve.

Vydra been badly advised since he joined Watford.

Needs to knuckle down and fight for his place or be sold. Going out on loans has done him no favours whatsoever.

Better finisher, best weve had since Mo Johnston but not as quick or strong as Vardy.

Vydra > Vardy. Vardy is just an anagram of Vydra.
