It wasn't me who was bumming cats Si. I don't even like cats.

How did you get the cat poo through the letterbox? Did you wear gloves or did you have some rudimentary tools? I imagine that you could use a flattened Frosties carton to scoop up the excreta and then a stick to push it through the letterbox. Difficult, however, if they have one of those brushes across the slot.

He started following some of the Valencia players on Twitter! How unprofessional, hasn't even left yet! Next he will be going to media complaining about how we didn't play the ball on the deck which made him unhappy.

Can anyone explain why people seem to be so hostile to Suarez? Is it just because he didn't fulfil your overly inflated expectations?

Real shame this didn't work out. Came with a huge reputation and CV and what's more he seems a thoroughly decent guy too. Can image him being popular in the dressing room. But it seems he was past his best and couldn't adapt to the whirlwind style of English football.

And so, sadly, it goes down as another recruitment failure.

I'm sure many of us remember the (bad) old days of near bankruptcy a decade ago when Lewington was told he could only bring in ONE new player during the summer. How carefully that player had to be chosen. Now fully-fledged internationals come and go like buses, many departing before we've even learnt how to correctiy pronounce their names! On a rainy day, we could probably have fun making an eleven (or even two) of Pozzo signings who've played less than 10 full matches for us.

It's our owners way and it seems to work. But am I alone in hoping for some stability this season too? I'm very excited about Pereyra and just pray he's been properly scouted (obviously he played for udinese) and will fit in well to the PL. And that Doucoure isn't going anywhere, or that Kabasele gets a chance to establish himself. Etc etc

I think it is a combination of things that have lead to him unfairly being seen as a bit of a boo boy.
    - People see him as QSF's man at a time when we were already cramming defensive midfielders into the team and the need to field him exacerbated that.
    - Disappointing acclimatisation to the premier league so far, after arriving with an unquestionably good pedigree.
    - Long contract - if people think his "legs have gone" whatever that means then he's going to be an expensive reserve for years to come.

He's a victim of circumstance really. I still think he could do a good job at the base of the midfield if he settled, but to many he is seen as symbolic of the turgid, inflexible 2nd half of last season under Quique. QSF and Jurado aren't here anymore so Suarez carries the can.

    Seems fair enough.

He wasn't good last year when he first came, but there are believable reasons as to why that should be.

Despite people thinking he was a QSF 'favourite' that really wasn't the case. According to reports QSF was not the one who wanted to bring him in.

If he does go, it'll be a bit of a shame. Like Berghuis, he hasn't really had a proper chance to show us what he can do thus far.

If true, my 8 year old daughter will be pleased as she thinks he's rubbish and "he never does anything". My wife will be gutted as she fancies the useless Spanish idiot.

I wish him all the best. No hard feelings here. Just the wrong player being managed by the wrong manager in the wrong team at the wrong point of time of his career in the wrong league.

Apart from that, it was a successful transfer.

It's tough but in the prem we really can't give too much time for players to acclimatise. Maybe we could the tail end of last season but he missed his chance to show he'd adapted before he start of this season. Playing him would still be a big risk hoping he will come good. We just can't afford to take that risk. Hopefully this summers crop will hit the ground running like Britos, Prodl.....and precious few others who arrived without prem experience last summer.

I don't think he's a bad player, but on paper my centre 3 would be Capoue, Pereyra and Ducoure

Spanish game suits him better, we save a hefty wage for a guy on the bench, good move for all concerned

Walter's had a good look at Suarez in training & pre-season. If he were keen to keep him I doubt Gino & Co would be moving him on.

For that reason alone it's best for all concerned if he goes.

Find that a bit hard to believe given that arguably his worst performances of the season coincided with him supposedly being in his "best physical condition" (and I've been among those in favour of him being given a chance).

Ran a project at the Ford plant in Valencia over the summer of 2001, rented an apartment right on the beach with a roof top garden

    Those were the days.... :drinking:
