I'm not sure what I've said but I can guarantee I've either got something horrifically wrong or changed my mind several times.

He played as a wing-back in Italy, do they need one of them? Unfortunately I suspect they won't be willing to get a decent wing-back in return for giving us an outstanding player elsewhere!

I'n not necessarily speaking out in favour of the 'gotcha' myself, because as others have said everyone gets the odd thing catastrophically wrong and appreciates the good grace of everyone else not to blow that up in their face, but at the same time, realistically, we can't possibly say that that appraisal is 'pretty much spot on'.

He's not strong, he hasn't really got any little bit of skill, and he certainly doesn't just need time to adapt to the pace of the Premier League. He isn't a Premier League level player, and he's shown that definitively in two separate spells. He also really doesn't have anything to offer us off the bench, as, again, he has pretty definitively demonstrated.

Any of the even semi-positive attributes can only potentially apply a level down, in the Championship, and that's not what's being said in the post. And, of course, we can (and do) still debate those relative merits even at that lower level.

*Somebody* missed Ken's maradona-esque pirouette straight into two opposition defenders, in two consecutive games. You can't teach that

I would also say he is very one footed which doesn't help.

It’s stating the obvious, but footballing ability is only one part of what is needed to make it at the very top. Kiko could pretty much outpace any winger or fullback last season, and Sema often got to the byeline and got a cross in, this season he can’t even get down the wing without running it out of play. The very best physical specimens find themselves at the very top, would Kyle Walker be that good without his pace? Having a decent amount of pace and physicality can make up for a lot, but not that many are naturally blessed with it. Obviously you also have players that have so much natural footballing ability that pace and strength is largely irrelevant, probably one of the best examples I can think of is a player like Alessandro Pirlo.

Sema has neither the footballing ability or the physical attributes. He’s just about ok at championship level because you’ve got no Kyle Walker types, the players are all in the main slower and have less physicality because they’re all playing a level higher.

Yet still manages to dribble the ball straight into touch when operating on his 'stronger' side under no apparent pressure...

The FTRE chaps actually had it right the other week, they said Sema is so one-footed he almost has to run around the ball to be able to kick it with his right.

Was that when giving away the throw in from which eventually Spurs got the free kick?

A punt down the pitch might have saved the whole situation?

Straight swap - everyone* is happy.

In all fairness, Sema played his best football at Udinese and is highly regarded there. Thinking sending him there on a perm would be a win-win.

Hardly. They’d be getting a player in a problem position in the prime of his career with plenty of top flight experience. What’s not to like?

There was genuinely an Udinese fan on Twitter the other day when the Samir news first dropped campaigning strongly (and earnestly) for us to send Sema back over in exchange and all would be forgiven. Baffling but true - he described him as something like a 'monster' at left wing-back.

Today there's been Watford fans saying he's a decent backup for us and he'd be good at wing back if we decide to play three at the back. The world has gone mad.

Serie A must be pretty poor compared to the Premier League beyond the usual teams at the top (Juventus got to the Champions League final in 2017) if Sema and WTE are able to do well there. But if that's the case, how did Juventus finish between Atalanta and Napoli, and Lazio and Roma nowhere near the teams above last season?

All Shaq Forde did when he came on was get stuck in and give away fouls, but at least I knew he was on the pitch. I honestly forgot Ken was brought on. Completely appalling yet again.

I know it’s only the FA Cup, but the feeling I got when Sema came off the bench today gave me horrifying flashbacks to the feeling I would have when Andre Gray would come on last season.

The guy is hopeless. Completely one dimensional and predictable, doesn’t have a right foot and is too slow.

I think that’s half the problem with the predicament we’re in. Udinese have never been relegated under the Pozzo’s, so Gino thinks he can just C+P his methods across to the PL, including the quality of defenders needed.

For me the season before would be a better comparison, like putting Gray on vs Palace when we needed the goal that in theory would keep us up.

What's happened to "King Kenny" as many were calling him not so long ago, he is obviously not good enough for the PL, but he a totally different player in the Championship and possibly even in Serie A.

It's time to try and offload him hopefully at a profit to a Championship side and if we can't do that then send him back to Udinese where he has been a useful player in the past.

Seems that he was ok in Serie A a couple of years back so surely makes sense to send him back to Udinese? It's a much, much lower standard and the football is really slow so can see why it suits him.

Let’s look at this another way:

If Ken Sema was an Udinese reserve, do we really think they’d send him over here and believed him good enough to help our battle against the drop?

Actually, I know the answer. Don’t bother replying.
