No, he didn't, as far as we are aware, but I don't really see that that necessarily has much of a bearing - the situation last summer was potentially very different to that of the upcoming one (barring a miracle).

It's quite probable that the key part of convincing him not to do that was pitching either an immediate return to the Prem once again or the opportunity to move in a year's time, and that's now replaced by the very real/likely prospect of a second year in the Championship and another shot at having three head coaches in a season, none of whom seem to coach him particularly or provide any kind of tactical setup that allows him to thrive and develop properly (in conjunction with an incomplete squad of chancers helping to limit his output and drag him down the pitch).

At his age, and with the hype (both fair and hyperbolic) surrounding him, I think it's moonman to contemplate the idea that a decent contract length means he's likely to, or indeed prepared to countenance being happy, staying after this summer, and that's outside our clear financial need to cash in (obv appreciate you've said yoursef you don't expect that, but it's the only other possibility in this scenario).

That's complicated by the fact that, for various reasons, he hasn't ever actually set any division that he's playing in alight, to date. According to Leventhal's reporting, that means a player who will on the balance of all probabilities be desperate to leave coming up against a delusional Gino massively restricting his options for a transfer by 'demanding' a pretty unreasonable price for him. Hence the gathering storm clouds I could readily imagine forming over his head.

As Tut has said, the likely result of that is bluster and bullshyt from what's left of The Stability, and an undisclosed fee that's far lower than one of their feted matters of pride.

Expected him to leave in the summer but it seems he’s checked out already.

Absolutely awful again today and still totally baffled that he thought it was a good idea to roll asprilla off the pitch and for us to carry on with 10 men

He was crap. They’ve given him the armband to try and get him motoring but if anything he seemed even worse yesterday.

One of many in the squad who thinks it’s someone else’s fault.

We’ve totally failed him but he’s also not the type of profile that we can afford to carry. I think someone like Dennis is a maverick who’s individuality could win games, Joao is a massive talent but needs a good system and environment with talent around him to finish off his artistry. Good luck to him in his future endeavours I will be wishing him the best.

I think Pedro will go to Udinese, no other club is going to pay what we want. I like Pedro but the fact he has yet to get in double figures is poor, and the fact that he shows some nice touches on the halfway line is all very interesting, but is not what you want from a forward.

    Brazilian Nonce.

Was happy when he was linked away in the summer with Newcastle and I was slated for saying we should sell him.

We will be lucky to get in excess of £20m for him.

If we sold him in the summer we would be in the relegation fight this year. He's kept us mid table alone.

Who cares about a Brighton second string player?

    Martins is better.

Have we got a sell on clause? I certainly hope so, because he will go for big money if Brighton choose to sell him even now!!!

Yep, here's hoping for some 50/60 mill bids from a top tier European side in a few seasons!

Joao Pedro is now the first Brighton player to reach 15 goals since Glenn Murray

I know he takes their penalties and Brighton tend to get a lot of those, but he’s really improving his finishing. He’s gone to the next level this season and won’t be at Brighton beyond this season. One of the big boys will be in for him in the summer I would suspect.

Trust me he will be here for another season. I'm more worried about De Zerbi. At the end of the day players and mangers move on. Thankfully we have one of the best chairman in football who is shrewd, dedicated and very clever. He is here for the long haul Everyone is trying to copy his model on how to run a club.

I don't worry about relegation anymore as we are well and truly established now. Of course we are only one bad appointment from relegation like most Premier league clubs. Bloom has never tasted relegation and has only appointment one duff manager in Hyypia.

Watford in the 4th round would please me. Failing that Southampton.

Sorry obviously posted in the wrong thread above!

Mind you at this rate Arsenal will be trying to make an offer.

Sure he will stay for a bit though particularly if you get European football again.

I was only going by a quote by De Zerbi the other day, that keeping Pedro for another year would be difficult, or words to that effect.

I agree about Tony Bloom though. Very impressed with his track record and him being a Brighton fan, he’s in it for all the right reasons too.

Ah, you've reached the complacency stage I see. We used to say the same thing. I'm sure Leceister did too.

Sadly you'll be back in our position within 5 years. I hope you manage to win a cup in that time, otherwise it's all just a complete waste of time.

The £400m+ that he has put into the club has no doubt helped with his "track record" and the fact that for now Brighton appear to be "established".
Not jealous at all. Not one bit. No siree.
