I can't see it being a setting anywhere, like a lo-fi version

How long has it been happening?

 

Since about yesterday afternoon. It works fine on my iphone though.

 

I can only suggest keeping an eye on it as there's no issue on our end

 

Ok, I'll post here if something's changed.

 

I deleted and reinstalled chrome. Working fine now.

 

Try Firefox or better still Waterfox. Far better than Chrome imho.

Did the forum go down for anyone else last night? I couldn't access the forum from about 11pm - 12am last night. The error message I got was 'error 404' I think.

 

Don't know I'm afraid. I was impersonating a chainsaw at that time.

Anyone else experience issues?

 

It was fine my end if I recall.

I sent a post at 10:54pm last night, and I think I refreshed a few times between the aforementioned timeframe without issue.

Looking at Activity for 11-12, it looks like it was business as usual for others posting wise. ie: Carlos at 11:11pm

 

Sorry - haven't been around.

The server did go down that night, enquired with the host's out of ours line straight away but didn't get a reply till 7AM when they told me the server is working and fine (it'd fixed itself by then)

 

Just a quicky.

From this morning I seem to have lost the text format bar when making replies, including the advanced options such as adding links and images, etc. I am using Chrome.

Any ideas why, please?


EDIT, sorry, cancel the above, I have just used IE and everything comes up normal. I obviously have an issue with my Chrome settings.

TBF, I am totally p*****d off with Chrome, at the mo.

Now sorted, but I am tending to agree with you.

The problem is that I use the google system for emails, I have an Ipad, I have an android phone, and MS Office, a work Twitter feed, a work Facebook presence, and a work Youtube, Wordpress Blogs. and Linkedin. My "IT" young lady is now off studying for her Uni exams and I am trying to make everything work together - and failing miserably. Recently, I've started getting all sorts of problems in Chrome with add-ons, extensions and ***ing scripts :rant:

 

Not had any problems with chrome so far, it syncs up for my perfectly, I'm sure something will happen to me in the not too distant future though..

 

How come you can't access/view your sent messages?

 

I asked that recently. In settings, general settings there's a check box somewhere that lets you save sent messages. Worked for me.

Why El D would want to review all his Simms stalking messages I have no idea though.

I have a couple of site issues I would like you to check please. By the way my computer knowledge is very limited so I don't know the correct terminology to use, so please bear with my layman descriptions :-[

1. When some of the pop up adds are showing at the bottom of a page, my back arrow button to get off that page does not seem to work?

2. When I tick the quotes + tab sometimes it does not turn itself off after I've used it, therefore that unwanted quote pops up in the next unrelated post. Which means I have to edit the new post, then go back find the unwanted post it has quoted and remove the tick manually.

I hope you understand my queries? If not email me and I'll try and explain better.

TVOR, I get number 2 as well. I think it's the forum software which is the cause.

 

It's bloody annoying though, I hope they can do something about it.

 

Number 2 has been happening for years, I always assumed it was something that couldn't be rectified.

 

I've not see either issue on my setups
Win XP Firefox
Win 7 Waterfox
Android 4.4 Stock Browser
The same quote button is likely to set a cookie i would think so I'm wondering if this is not clearing properly.
Also if you reply to a quote and then use the back button to return to the thread you will go back past the page that set the cookie in the first page.

Really try not to use the back button. There is normally a return to thread button or a next or something instead.

Let me know if this helps, otherwise may be one for adders2.

 

Thanks Meister, although I must confess I don't understand most of what you are talking about, but I will try not to use the back button and look for the alternatives you suggest instead.

Just had to install an emergency patch on the forum software, and upgraded to the latest version of vB 4 whilst there.

Unfortunately as a result of this we've lost some plugins, so for the time being the 'Like' system and also 'orns' are disabled.

Don't worry - will be working on getting them back in

EDIT: It seems you can still gamble your orns, they just don't appear in your mini profile beside posts at this stage, and you possibly don't earn anymore for posting yet. If you ignore the error at the top of each vBookie page, you can still gamble.
