You are indeed, certain things that don't function properly with the new patch are causing it.

 

Should be gone now, looks like vBookie isn't working as well as I thought.

Any progress on the Multi-Quote tab? It really is annoying :rant:

Just to remind you of the problem; after ticking the Multi-quote tab, the tab does not deselect automatically after use, as it used to; the tick now has to be removed manually. Hence the now unwanted multi-quote reappears in subsequent unrelated posts.

Can anything be done about this?

If there is a solution that requires me readjusting something on my computer, please explain in VERY simple layman terms as I am pretty much a computer numptey, thank you for your assistance :notworthy:

 

You must have your browser set to ignore or refuse cookies or your anti virus program is playing up. As it's fine on multiple set-ups for me as before.

What browser are you using? I'll show you where to check the cookie setting.

firefox is your browser.
Go to the top pull down menu, Tools and select options.
Along the top of the window that opens you should see some new icons, select the one with a mask titles privacy.
Halfway down you'll see
History
Firefox will:

and then a drop box of options. Select Use custom settings.
There should be an option to Accept cookies from sites. Make sure this is checked.
Below this Make sure Accept third-party cookies : is set to Always.
Click on OK

With this setting you may want to delete your history before going to to your porn sites.
To do this go back to the top pull down menu, Tools and select options.
Along the top of the window that opens you should see some new icons, select the one with a mask titles privacy.
Halfway down you'll see
History and a little further down "You may want to clear all current history" click on that & follow the instructions.

 

Thanks for your help, but all you said was already done, could be anything else?

As for the part highlighted in bold. Are there some things I should not delete from my history, such as cache (what does that mean), plugins etc. or could I clear the lot without causing any problems to the way my computer has been set up, not by me as you may realise.

 

Clearing history will only delete the list of what websites you've been on, what settings and any saved logins you have and saved data to speed up reloading of pages.

If you know all of your usernames & passwords and have all of your important websites bookmarked this shouldn't cause an issue and in some cases will speed it up. I actually have my computer set-up to clear all history everytime I quit Firefox.


With regard to your multi-quoting issue I can only think that its a back button problem as before or your virus checker. If anyone else has any suggestions I'd be grateful as I'm stuck now.

 

The following are all checked: - Browsing & Download History; Form & search H; Cookies; Cache; Active Logins. Which if any of these should I not clear?

There are two other unchecked headings: - Off-line Web Data & Site Preference. Should I leave them alone?

 

I can't even see V bookie on my 'forum' page anymore.

 

Vbookie isn't working due to the upgrade. It;s been temporarily withdrawn so that people don't waste their orns.

Apologies to all that sevral things have broken but it was due to an essential security update which then made several add ons incompatible.

We hope normal service will be resumed shortly.
