Dennis seems to have to same issue John Barnes had when playing for England.
I.E. if he didn't dance through a packed defence and score like he did against Brazil circa 1984
then he was useless. According to idiots that is. #DontBeThatIdiot
TVOR that comment is not aimed at you !!

Not letting him go to the AFCON has bitten us, I said it at the time and got shot down. Yes well done Watford, a clever way found to not let him go and good media job to pretend he didn't want to anyway.

Clear as day by his body language that he's fuming. Gross mismanagement yet again.

We shot ourselves in the foot by preventing Dennis from playing for Nigeria at the Afcon. When he was invited for the Afcon, I read somewhere about how happy he was to be invited to play for his country in the Afcon, only for us to later take that dream from him. Now, none of us know what has happened to him since then. My worst fear is if by the time the Afcon ends in February and he still doesn't get back to his best for us, then we stand no chance of surviving as I don't think we will ever keep any clean sheet this season. We will only stand a chance of winning any game if we score more than one goal, and it's difficult to see how we can score more than one goal in games if Dennis isn't scoring.

Guess it’s easier to say in hindsight now though but we did know he has a reputation for getting annoyed .

Lost his rag with King just after the booking in the first half. Lots of loud voices and arm waving. Red card was nailed on after that.

No captain of any substance to calm them down or rally the troops. **** knows why Sissoko is captain.

Your lowercase spelling and grammar just screams "Tommy Robinson as iPhone wallpaper and England flag in Twitter name" but I'll humour you.

Your country you were born in, your parents were born and your grandparents were probably born in, calls you up to it's national team AFTER it looks like you had no chance in August due to no form and even in form there's a manager who doesn't like you.

You knuckle down and are in crazy form, you get the call up for your nation to represent them in a competition crowning the best in the rich, historic, proud continent of Africa and your club stops you from going over some paperwork.

As a Watford fan I am pis*ed off that he's sulking but I totally understand it.

Maybe it's nothing to do with AFCON, maybe he is just fed up of losing?

At least Nigeria have been knocked out of afcon,so after the Burnley game he can come back and put some effort in wearing the watford shirt as his body language at the moment tells me he can't be bothered

He seemed jolly enough in training in the latest 'behind the scenes' vid the club posted on its youtube channel - seems he's been saving his strops for when he steps on to the pitch.

"NIGERIA bosses have blasted Emmanuel Dennis for turning up a day late to camp.
The Watford striker, 24, linked up with the national side just hours before this afternoon’s deadline."

How can you be a day late when arriving before the deadline?

Exactly! Not sure what they're complaining about plus the article doesn't make sense.

Emmanuel's main objective when he steps on a football pitch seems to be nutmegging as many people as possible. It doesn't matter if he's 30 yards from his own goal, he'll try it and if it doesn't work he can just give up and let those behind him deal with it.

The amount of times that he'll make the wrong decision or actually pass to a teammate and completely mess up the final ball is truly impressive. I'd happily see Kalu start ahead of him because it's perfectly clear to me now that he's just playing for himself.

1 goal and no assists in his last 13 appearances, also, shockingly enough.

At the start of the season I predicted he'd flatter to deceive and play about 1000 minutes, no more, having little tangible impact. Obviously, his crazy purple patch in which he registered 6 goals and 4 assist in 8 games proved me wrong on that, which I also admitted in post-form here at the time.

But since that patch came to an end, he has very strongly resembled that predicted player; the one we saw at all his previous clubs, and he isn't showing any signs of changing that in a positive way as it stands, either.

As ever, disclaimer alert: it's not his fault we are where we are, and it's not solely on him that we're playing like shyt, offering almost no goal threat. But he's not doing a great deal on a personal level to change any of that, and hasn't been for quite some time, actually.
