Buttler is the captain of course but yes Buttler may have had a word with Stokes to check. I guess Stokes felt Hales didn't support him enough re the pub incident or blamed him for getting him into that incident ?
Due to "kick off" at 11.30 but looking at the radar, there's lots of heavy rain going to hit London within the hour so I don't think you'll see much cricket for a good few hours I'm afraid. https://www.netweather.tv/live-weather/radar
Enjoying the excitement, the tension, the will-they-won't-they get to bowl a ball today ? It's not looking good. Hope the beer is cold and wet....and you're not !
I certainly don’t want it cold, thanks. Far too often, decent ale is ruined by being served too cold.
Almost. Great batting from England 4th innings. A bit of luck inc a first ball dropped catch but a brave assault from the English openers in tough conditions. Would have been very easy to have got stuck in a war of attrition.
One of the commentators said yesterday he couldn't understand why they didn't start autumn matches at 10.30. It would make sense. Even 10am.
More revamping of the county game . Less 4 day games and the One day cup having a FA cup feel with Minor Counties brought back in . The Hundred getting its own slot in the calendar with no other distractions- not even a test match in August next year , https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/62985372
The hundred is an utter waste of time in my eyes. I couldn't tell you who won it or indeed any team names. Is it really bringing in a new audience
Fewer. Agree with TUT, the Hundred is a waste of space. Think this has to get past the counties first, don't think that is a done deal by any means.
Basically a money making tool as they don’t think new fans can follow the traditional forms of the game .
Think both TV audiences and in-person attendance dropped this year compared to last, the former particularly by around 20%. The ECB have done a deal for it to continue until at least 2028 though so it's going no where it seems.
Is it on regular terrestrial tv ? If so, a real tragedy that this can be seen by the masses whilst "proper cricket" can't be.
