Great news. Loved him as a player and with Bairstow and Roy missing, very much needed. I believe the main blocker to this before was Morgan who “felt let down” by him though not too sure what the issue was behind that statement ….

 

Drugs.

 

Yes just read that - failed 2 recreational drugs tests. 3 years is a long time though. I trust he's been read the riot act and will be frequently targeted for testing. Also seems to be an issue between him and Stokes who recently referred to him as "his friend at the time" but Stokes has apparently given the Ok to his recall.

 

Good to see Hales back. I actually played against him once when he was probably around 13 or 14. His dad played for Denham at the time and you could see he had talent and was also very big for somebody of that age. His dad was a very good cricketer as well
On a side note, we've had probably the driest summer on record but I have tickets for tomorrows test match, Forecast, pi55ing it down!

 

Yes, and to be frank I am not sure there was a very obvious alternative to Hales anyway.
