Alan Knill, Matt Prestridge and Mile Allen are going to be Wilder's backroom team. Prestridge was actually born in Watford.

I'd like to see Aidy Memoire given a try as our next boss.

 

I was told Prestridge was still at Middlesbrough after Wilder left. And has left them to join us - seems a big thing to do when the guy you're coming with is on an 11-game contract.

But he's very highly rated in what he does.

 

Might be a 13 or 14 match contract if he does well.

 

Yay, Knill has implemented some very inventive setpiece routines in the past for Wilders sides. Wouldn't surprise me to see one on Saturday considering the small amount of time they've had to work on wider tactics vs the immediate impact of a setpiece goal

 

That would be great if we had an expert set piece taker…

 

Some would say we’ve had a well set “piece-taker” running the club for a while now.

 

Knill, Prestridge and Allen sounds like a reputable but slightly down at heels provincial legal firm.

 

My prediction of a poor performance on Saturday salvaged (to some extent) by a late set piece goal to equalise from one of the big lads at the back is one step closer...

 

Let's hope they also work on defining set pieces after the recent goals we have conceded.

Having read this, Wilder mentions Duxbury, Manga and Giaretta, in positive terms as well, but no mention of Pozzo, what does this mean? Was he even involved in the hiring process? Or am I overthinking things?

 

Given he hasn't been at games recently, and AF says that he is 'injured', he probably isn't in the country.

 

Out for the rest of the season if our medical team are anything to go by!

 

I don’t care what else happens to the seasons end, as long as it’s more entertaining, and we look like we are putting out a team that is fully committed to win the game.

Perhaps we should start a crowd fund for the players food?

Interesting part of this article, I'm sure Boro fans (and possibly Sheffield United fans too!) will disagree with his claim that he's tactically versatile, but I'm not sure what system we could play that leaves the fewest amount of square pegs in round holes. I suppose the Bilic formation, just because he was unable to get anything out of a 4-2-3-1 it doesn't mean Wilder can't, although I don't think Davis can work as a lone frontman and Araujo is untried (and I would argue Kamara is a much more effective wing-back without as many defensive responsibilities as a traditional full-back)
