Armchair psychologists - yet you’ve been dissecting people giving you well wishes and generally being polite to you. We have an okay ‘relationship’ on here where we debate and generally move on when we don’t agree. And I’m always happy to leave it at that. But I say this in the spirit of the above and as hopefully someone you may take notice of - your attitude has been poor over the past week. No one minds a heated debate, least of all me (we have had one just this week!), but your posts over the last 24hrs to certain individuals are clearly OTT and nasty in their nature. You won’t agree, I’ve no doubt over that. But please just read your replies to people over the past day or 2 and see, from the other persons point of view, how they might come across. You can hold your own opinions, be forthright with them, yet still be polite and respectful. When many people tell you you’ve fallen below that threshold, maybe it’s not the time to dig your heels in - but a time to to accept you can be wrong.
Actually my responses to both were rather consistent: Armchair psychology is forming a misguided opinion on someone you don't know personally, based on little information and little subject knowledge. Meanwhile, I pointed out how, as with armchair psychology, it seems similarly wrong-headed when you have no idea who someone is personally to also send them well wishes, and then to also think that you have the authority to tell them to "be kind". The crux is the same - in both instances people were acting as if they knew me, when they don't, and then making insincere or misguided comments off the back of that. You claim that I have by contrast been disrespectful, but frankly the aforementioned two points of behaviour are disrespectful (and arrogant, while we're on the subject) in their own way. Incorrect - other people's reactions to my posts have been OTT. My discussion with LeedsOrn, while a bit long-winded, had at least been focused on discussions about football. However, ulimately it was LeedsOrn who needlessly made things personal as they were trying to scarper from the footballing points I'd raised. When you unprovoked say to someone "Have a wonderful weekend" it moves the conversation away from the football and makes things personal, and others on here have then needlessly jumped in with more of that. I'm within my rights to say that I find it weird when posters make personal comments towards me when they don't know me personally, and to suggest that they don't; plus also to point out that it's impossible for such comments to make any sense anyway given that fact.
Yeah whatever. I have no desire to get into this further with you beyond this post. People were clearly being genuine in their comments to you - we can all see and read that. It’s you that has sought unfounded conflict in those words. You add tonnes of value to this forum as you’re clearly educated and put research into many of your posts. You highlight many things that many of us don’t know. But you love to act up - I fail to believe you don’t know you’re doing it. I used to think it was a wind up to an extent but now I genuinely now think you just lack the ability to reason or listen to people who disagree with you.
And as I've repeatedly pointed out, given they don't know me personally at all it's not possible for the comments to be completely genuine. And again, it was also unwarranted for the other posters to make things personal anyway, regardless of their intentions. Again that's a bit odd considering as per my comments above in this post and in also my previous reply, you appear to find it impossible to listen to and consider the points which I have made.
stick with us , it’s just pre season nerves , forum is like this before every season starts (and to be fair at the end of the season as well) if you leve now you will miss the generally informative discussions surrounding cheese (a firm forum favourite) which most match threads descend into. forum can be a bit over the top at times, and some people seem to relish the arguments more than the football, however most of the people on here just want to talk about Watford (but for the love of god don’t go into the politics section)
You are entitled to your opinion and so are those who think your opinion is shyte You are entitled to say that those who think your opinion is shyte are morons I will fight for you to say what you believe
He's ours, joins after Man Utd's last friendly today. What's the betting either Laird or one of Man Utd's full backs get injured? https://www.manchestereveningnews.c...-news/man-united-transfer-news-laird-24631928
Surprised they've let him come here. No guarantee of minutes. But must learn from a player like Gasper. I take it that Ngakia will be moved on then.
Looks a good player. Hopefully he can stay fit. Him and Gaspar as our right sided players would be good depth and quality. Just hope we can keep Kamara now!
Would be pleased with this. I think we now have a young promising manager who will get the best out of players like Laird. Arm round the shoulder and away we go.
I expect so, but if he proves himself a decent player for us I hope Edwards doesn't do a "Woy" and stick with the same team every week with the sane tactics. We haven't had a decent 'impact sub' since, Gray? When he hit that purple patch of scoring very late winners in 18/19. That hurt saying that name again.
Grays goal against Palace was superb, the ball from Pereyra and then the finish whilst not brilliant was still magical.
Don't forget we are allowed FIVE subs every match this season so there will more opportunity for players to get time on the pitch. So the players on the fringe will have a lot more chance of playing than in previous years.
Enjoyed watching that, certainly looks a lot better than the 29 seconds of highlights we usually see from our signings!
So, if we sign this lad we'll have Laird, Gaspar, Ngakia, Hungbo and Kamara all able to play this position. Personally, I think that would mean at least one, if not both, Ngakia and Hungbo go out on loan.
Agree that Ngakia should go out on loan, and hopefully it's the end of the Kamara on the right experiment. I wonder if Hungbo still offers something, as a third choice / rotation option on both sides, as a more attacking alternative from the bench if we are chasing a game, and as an out and out winger if we adapt our formation in a game. Obviously can still arrange something in January if the above doesn't materialise into minutes.
Giles and Maatsen have already set a pretty high benchmark this season for performances of young wing-backs on loan from the PL.
Yikes, he looks a bit tasty! If he had Starr in front of him and Gaspar next to him, there’s a chance we will look pretty hot down the right flank
