I think it's because they had a friendly yesterday so today is just the players who didn't start that game. I'd rather Laird was getting some minutes so he's ready to play but we all knows he's getting injured now!
Yeah we may have asked them to play him so he builds up hits fitness and sharpness. The MEN story also specifically said the move would go through following the conclusion of United’s pre-season schedule.
I had the first 45 mins of the United friendly on yesterday before the England game, thought Laird looked good at RB, overlapped well without being caught out defensively He was paired on the right hand side with Chong who was absolutely diabolical, so perhaps could be an even better prospect partnered up with someone like Sarr for us
My son is a United obsessive - watches reserve and academy games - think Laird is the best prospect for years as long as the RCB covers when he overlaps - so Gaspar seems to have all we need for that and Sarr, Kalu or Pedro links up with ahead of him when he moves up

Smart move all around for Merchandise United. Dest can flat out play, and although raised in Holland he's a US international, which would mean buckets of shirt sales in the US.... and Laird gets games with us.
Think Dest is the AWB replacement. They’re trying desperately to bin him off as he doesn’t know how to attack. Probably an excellent full back in there for a bottom half side looking for a defensive FB for a back four.
