Never see them run out of the tunnel and jump to head an imaginary ball anymore either. RIP Football.

That was very similar to the Plymouth game, except in the end the breaks finally went our way.

Rajovic had another game where he was generally not very good in open play but still showed he knows where the net is.

Good to see Lewis come on finally, especially given Morris offered so little.

The quality isn't always there, but the team is showing it's willing to battle and put the work in this season.

Very torn between loving the win and goals both for Rajovic and, especially, Andrews, and the way they masked what was for basically the entire game a very toothless and dull performance. Louza pretty terrible again, it seemed to me.

If Rajovic does actually turn out to be that guy who can pop up out of nowhere after a game of nothing and score a winner, though, that's a very useful thing.

Ismael certainly looked relieved after the second, that's for sure.

What a satisfying afternoon of results :)

Scum doing what they do best, the 'orns winning and poor old Woy getting beaten in injury time!

Great feeling to win. Was sure it would end goalless. Not a great performance, but I thought Kone looked good when he came on. Louza looked like someone kept taking his last biscuit. Very grumpy. Delighted for Andrews. Asprilia was lively but his passing was off. 3 points, confidence boost, new striker scores again and an academy graduate comes up with late goal to secure the win. Oh, and a great double save from Bachmann. Lots of positives.

I think it's a good result. We deserve a bit of luck based on how few goals we've scored so far this season.

Relied on Bachmann with a strong early save and excellent double save later in the game.

Dele-Bashiru, Martins and Ngakia deserve credit first half. Substitutions from VI were positive and changed game 2nd half as it went on. Kone had his best cameo in months.

A grinding performance with plenty to improve on but it's a very welcome 3 points.

Totally deserved, not necessarily because of today's performance but because we haven't had the breaks in our other matches.

3 maligned figures come up trumps. 1) Bachman great double save 2) Rajoviv - does a striker have to do much more than stick it in the net.

Very important win. Hopefully can kick on.

I put it down to making a cup of a liquid almost entirely but not quite unlike tea, on my return home at 4.23pm.

An amazing header said Matt Murray on Soccer Saturday.

Nice for Eamon for the second.

    Well done Fulham!

    Enjoy every sandwich everyone!

Got the breaks we deserved, great header from Rajovic.

Valérien looked happy at the final whistle.

Predicted a 0-0 in the competition and was counting the points when the clock hit 90.

Glad for big Raj though. Good celebration too.

Spot on. Lots to work on and far from coherent... yet can't really doubt the effort. And ultimately it's results like that that should ensure midtable mediocrity this season over a relegation scrap I think we're ill equipped for.

Before today Brum had the best defence in the league and were unbeaten, just throwing a bit of context out there.

Hive Live was being a right and total <bleep> for the first half so saw none of it, just what the Shout box coms shouted and it looked pretty even with Porterous hitting the post our best chance. Second half Bachmann made a fantastic double save, we woke up a bit going forward and the Owl did it again with his third in two games, a beautiful header from our best cross into the box. Then who would have had Andrews get on the score sheet today? Bit of a lucky goal but they all count. Brum will probably feel a draw would of been fair but we took our chances at the death after putting us through a bit of a snooze fest to be honest for the vast majority of it. Defensive got exposed a bit and for all the jabs Bachmann gets on here, he earned his salt today. We could of lost that today without some great saves. Cannot really comment much more as I missed the whole of the first half, but from what I did see, we looked alright and today was a real test against an inform side.

That point at Coventry looks a little better now, but now we have a small gap before another home game. WBA will be just as tough, although a bit like us goals are at a premium for them this season. MotM for me - Bachmann. Rajovic just might turn out our gem of the Window. W D L L D W is still a pretty depressing read for the first six games, but a lest we finally broke our hoodoo of playing like trash after an International break. Well done lads, had to work for it but I think we did hardest part when it mattered at the crucial time. Clean sheet as well.

Say what you like about Bachmann, but he's always been a good shot-stopper at this level. Good win that, all the signs were pointing towards a tough game

Excellent result, average game by all accounts but that was always going to be difficult against Birmingham who are a step up on recent years. I think that’s a very good three points.

    Well done us!

We were today what it says on the tin right now I think, a hard-working bunch sadly not over-loaded with an abundance of talent but with a bit more heart and spirit than we’ve often shown over the last couple of seasons.

And therefore when we do grind out a win like today, it feels rather nicely satisfying.

Three points against a previously unbeaten side, a clean sheet to follow all the defensive mishaps of the last match, proof that our new striker’s brace last time wasn’t a fluke and a magical moment that our young fullback won’t forget. Well done Ryan, you got your first goal a little (lol) faster than Mr Doyley managed!

It wasn’t perfect, in fact it was hard watching at times, and I’m sure other esteemed posters on here will remind us of that and the obvious squad deficiencies that saw us name only one striker in the whole squad today etc, but we’ve won a match, we’ve shown some character, and in a season of generally low expectations I will take that tonight!

John Ruddy rolling back the years by conceding a decisive late looping effort from a Watford forward

Saw Bayo driving off straight after the final whistle, didn’t look happy

Haha - good point. Number 3 was Keith Stroud. Apart from possible penalty appeal I think he was not massively horrible to us today, relatively speaking.

Excellent today across the board. A real shot in the arm for our season, a real answer to the critics of Ismael and proof that this squad is in good shape following a challenging rebuilding exercise. Should have won by more. Louza MOTM for me. Absolutely schooled them.

Rajovic deserved his goal after being unlucky with those early chances. Bachmann making great saves and looking flawless in possession now. You can really see how we’ve spent the international break on improving in this area. Defence pretty solid with Porty back on form with some great tackles and that really important one in the second half. Asprilla and Lewis excellent, as was Ince who was very unlucky before the knock. Sierralta brilliant as the DMF again, that’s his position now, no doubt.

TDB starting to look the player he could have been when at City and it was lovely to see Andrews score a screamer - I hope that pro contract is iron clad! All this whilst Luton ref Stroud gave them every decision under the sun. Very unfair ref today.

Also brilliant to see a full jumping Vic again after a long break. Whisper it quietly but being only 7 points off the promotion spots and a very favourable set of fixtures coming up, I think we just might be a problem to the top end of the table.

Don't know if anyone can confirm, but there's a few rumblings of a few Brum fans' trying to start issues with women and their children after the game?

Some people were talking about Blues as if they were very good before the game, so I have to say I was pleasantly shocked to see that they aren’t that great after all. We struggled to really create anything until the last 30 minutes, this was primarily down to Blues sitting back. I couldn’t go today for the first time this season so we were bound to win, I did watch the game on A Blues TV stream and I am not sure which game they were watching, they talked as if they had played quality football. If Watford had give possession away so cheaply like they did today I would have completely lost it. Commentators were whining about the second yellow as well but both of Buchanan’s yellows were for professional fouls.

I don't think we were great at all but despite that Birmingham looked crap. Asprilla, Kone and Lewis changed the game. Brilliant double save from Bachmann and TDB showed signs of taking the game by the scruff of the neck which we need to see more of. Porteous is going to cost us big time at some point but we've got no alternative apart from Pollock, it's crazy.

I like what Ismael is doing but he still has a poor squad to use so the decision making and lack of quality will be frustrating this season. Speaking for myself though I'm personally happy with the way we're heading at the moment, we have an identity and the players seem fully invested in it. We're a bog standard Championship team at the moment and we're going to have some honking performances, but after the last few years of dross it's nice to see the team putting in the effort for the shirt.

Pleased for Val! We deserved to win a game! Not been beaten out of sight or schooled by anyone yet. Should've picked something up at Stoke, should've beaten Blackburn, Plymouth and Cov as well.

The worry for me would still be the depth in certain areas of the squad. No striker on the bench today?

Pleased for Raj to pick up another goal despite not doing anything for 90 minutes!! Don't mind that though if he pops up with 20 goals a season!!

WBA on Wednesday a tough game but definitely winnable. Onwards and upwards.
