Good that this will happen with the transfer window still open. Depending on what happens, if the window has still been poor by then, then it’s a great opportunity to go back to the finances and what is the actual plan for the club.

Lo and behold - what was actually said by the owner as revealed in the full transcript was quite different, much more detailed, and less scrambled, than what was speedily typed by French in the WO's live feed. Even the full transcript may have a few errors.

Will there be any repercussions for the fact that I was calmly pointing out the correct interpretation of what was going on, while other posters attempted to mock me for that while also needlessly mocking the owner, and a mod also mocked the owner based on the interpretation which I pointed out was incorrect?

What was actually said as per the full transcript released afterwards:

And we are getting closer and closer to that. And we feel well about the next appointment because we feel that the style, the approach that he has, the philosophy is what the coach wants.

“I think football has changed in general. You see that managers anyway don’t stay in one place for too long even when they are successful. So you cannot count on the coach as it was before to give stability. So we prefer to offer stability through the Technical Director and all the people around, the scouting, that provides this ability of signing players that have a sense for the club. And then we have to find the right coach that brings all this assets together.

“Of course they need to stay with us long enough to develop this plan. That is a challenge and that is what we are doing in our work.

“Nevertheless, even with this change, the kind of the coaches that have been with us has not been ideal but the results that we have achieved I think has been impressive. At the end, even without this ideal philosophy we’ve still been able to deliver some exceptional results on the pitch.

“We know what we need to do. We clearly need to have a stable coaching staff with us in order to move to the next level. But even without them, if you look at the change of managers how would you expect to have the kind of results we have achieved? That means whatever we are doing in the back is really giving a solid base to this club. If we keep on going, if we get the appointment right, if we get the right man, we can have a coach that, most importantly, not only stays here. Many of the coaches we probably don’t want them to stay any longer because it was not a good fit for us.""

The amount of money Pozzo has pissed up the wall is insane. Millions of pounds wasted on players we no longer want and have barely used. Millions of pounds wasted on extending the contracts of old, crap and injury prone players. Millions of pounds wasted by constantly sacking head coaches that Pozzo himself has appointed. He's simply a terrible owner and we're now paying the price for his years of careless business. I can't wait for him to leave.

 

He's a short termist idiot who runs his business in ever decreasing circles that have now closed together.

To stand in front of us at the forum and say we have a fantastic set up and fantastic squad, let down by the managers they appoint, who one after another turn out to not be the "right fit" shows him as the useless chancer he is.

 

August 10th is going to be great. Hopefully the right people get to go and not just those that will pander to the board.

Doesn't really matter what they say does it? Pozzo has made it clear he isn't changing his ways so Duxbury, Manga, Costa, Giaretta, Ismael, the finance bloke, the kit man and the tea ladies will all have to fall in line. There's absolutely nothing that any of them can say that would make me trust the club.

Please to whoever is going. Do not let Giaretta have an easy night. The guy is freaking useless and is a major reason in our downfall. He needs to know that we all despise him and want him gone.

 

The vast majority of people that would attend this type of event are not there to challenge the establishment.....so questions will be "where will the 2024 pre season friendlies be played", "Gino - your strategy seems to be working based on the QPR game which was awesome" and "so encouraged with the incoming players. Keep it up" type nonsense
