@Hogg-DEENEY!!! Morning! Wesley I think. Bizarrely his Wiki page was edited a few days ago to say he signed for them!
Stop being so dramatic, we’ve never, ever been good at letting players go which is why the likes of Cathcart, Cleverley, Kabasele are all going in one summer. This has been the antithesis of a normal Pozzo summer window so why are you lying?
We've let 16 go, and signed 3. So I think it's a fair comment to make that we're good at letting players go, and not so good at bringing them in. Bizarre reaction from you.
But would you say that about any other Pozzo season? No, it’s literally been the total opposite most the time. If a striker plays 10 seasons, usually scores 20 but has a season where he scores 5 does he suddenly become “not good” at finishing or is that season the anomaly? This is the clear out everyone’s been demanding for years. I’m not even defending them, just asking for some consistency in opinion. The squad looks light, sure but there’s also three supposedly in the loading bay and over four weeks till the window shuts.
I think the point that Sinatra is making is that you are making this out to be the norm. It most definitely is not, if anything we have for a long time held onto players for far too long. There will be incomings, but the squad needed downsizing. It was old and bloated. In expect we will get between 3 and 5 more players signing on, and there to be a reliance on some of the youth players to help out this year. We havn’t signed on players like Adeyemo, Adu Poku and Grieves for no reason.
Who said any other season? It's only you that has made that leap. I was talking about the here and now as I think most would appreciate. It's bizarre you would call someone a liar for stating the facts but I guess you're itching for a fight with someone on here but I'm not going there. I'll leave you to it.
Wasn’t at the forum but when I asked him a similar question I was told “get out of my garden” Make of that what you will…
That was before he moved to Villa, and it turns out he was actually decent for Villa in the PL initially. But Villa fans seem to think he's not been the same since the injury he had in his first season. His scoring record before and after it would support that.
Curiouser and curiouser. Let’s see what tomorrow brings. As lots of us expressed misgivings about him coming to us, are we meant to celebrate if he does join Stoke or complain because he rejected us? Or both?!
Interesting. I wonder if we did pull out of a deal. Anyway not overly bothered just hope someone better is in the pipeline.
He'll be a bit of a punt for whoever signs him given his recent scoring record. He seemed to show a few glimpses of his quality towards the end of the season for Levante, but not consistently. As it is, considering we already have too many players with poor scoring records, it would be preferable to get someone who's shown more signs of being clinical recently, so depending on who we bring in instead I'm not hugely disappointed. I'd have been questioning things a bit more had he signed instead for a side likely chasing promotion.
If Bayo has gone to Udinese (be great if we had any access at all to know if he's still training/playing friendlies!) then we desperately need 2 strikers as soon as possible. I'd be very surprised if we pulled out given we've seemingly not got anyone else close. Moore is target #1 but seems he won't be allow to leave until the end of the window and seemingly wants Cardiff.
Well maybe Bayo was lined up to leave on the assumption that we had a replacement ready to join (or two replacements as we were strongly linked with the guy in Israel) and with the Wesley deal seemingly not happening, he’s stayed for now?
Some vote of confidence if we have to start a striker against QPR that we tried to send to our sister club the week before!
