That was utterly sh*te and had 0-0 written all over it from about 12 minutes in. City away and Hull at home and we looked completely toothless in both. The squad is a disaster. For the diehards, this is what it looks like in Vic Road on 80 minutes, I'd had more than enough of watching those idiots.
Is that you right in the background by the red building getting as far from Vicarage Road as possuble?
The problem is it's one thing to give a gash Swansea team an 8 point headstart, quite another to give a decent Sheffield United team a 7 point lead, even if we do have 2 players through the door with the potential for more to come
Choudhury in a knee brace, Kayembe out for a month. We literally have no midfield, I hope Adian Manning is good at football.
I don't begrudge the club letting Sarr sit this one out, but without him we do struggle to create chances.
They're on a good run, they'll also have their wobble. They lost to Rotherham 3 games ago, it happens. We just need our run of 4/5 wins on the bounce, whether we'll be good enough to get that done who knows but we're still not 50% of the way in.
Great point. Feel that these draws will become more important as the season goes on. Just need a few players to get fit and then we can push for the playoffs.
I hope Jullian D*cks can still play. We might need him in defence so we can push one of more attacking defenders into midfield. Ok it's not that bad yet, but it's getting more worrying than comical. Every game we lose somebody.
Bilic was never going to be the answer was he? A club which claimed to have turned a cultural corner over the summer but rowed back on every small, meaningful piece of change within a few weeks. Anyone who thought that things were broken back when we sacked our hell or high water, young English coach, but then changed their minds because Bilic won a couple of games, is an idiot. The problems have not gone away. The squad is still dreadful and not assembled with the correct purpose in mind. We look like a playoffs at best team. Bilic isn't the problem, but he's not the solution either. Pozzo selling up and leaving is the solution.
I thought the pressing was abysmal today. Half-hearted and disjointed. You either do it as a team or don't do it at all, I lost count of the number of times a few players decided to press when the rest of the team didn't and it left huge gaps. Hull are absolute toilet but they managed to get at our defence with two passes straight through us. The effort wasn't there from the players today but the football under Bilic seems to be getting worse.
Davis just stood there as their players played it around at the back . Very lazy! Pedro and Asprilla were having at him . I noticed the former walked off the pitch straight after the final whistle . He won’t be hanging around if it’s down to him .
The last sentence is my fear. Also find it odd how Edwards was given little time yet still got pelters for some performances - yet Bilic has had more games, far more poor performances yet is given more slack. I think Bilic has a better chance of short-term success…but by god, he needs to be better than he’s been so far.
Too many people tied themselves in knots desperate to back Pozzo, by creating the narrative that Edwards was "out of his depth" so they have no choice.
Davis is another one whose role is a complete mystery seemingly to everyone. Is he a hold up striker? Is he a pacey striker? Is he a ‘get on the end of it’ striker? Is he a bulldozing Deeney style spoiler? Because he can’t hold it up, has no pace, is never near the play when the ball comes in and is seemingly the weakest big man ever.
Probably worried about getting injured . You are right - didn’t win a header or turn his man all game.
Edwards and Bilic have both had a dogsh!t squad at their disposal but I'm just not seeing anything from Bilic in terms of how he wants the team to hurt the opposition. Most of the time we knock it around the back looking clueless while we wait for Pedro to do something. At least Edwards had the excuse of inexperience.
Look he's played in a proper fancy Dan world cup now why the hell should he be @rsed to fanny about on a cold afternoon in the championship.!!
I was in the Vic Road End today and have to disagree. First half in particular the front line were lethargic and seemed to have no clear idea who was pressing and who was holding. Davis in particular lumbered around to no great effect (no shock there) but Sema too seemed constantly caught in two minds. We perked up a bit after half time though.
Poundshop Deeney is still my assessment. Just fluctuates between ganes which iteration of Deeney he's a poor facsimile of.
First game after the break, not many positives to take, but hopefully it will get better once Sarr is back. Midfield is a bit of a worry, and it has been since the beggining of the season. We need Louza back asap.
Will never make it above being an average Championship striker who very occasionally looks a bit better than that. At one point I thought he might be another Michael Antonio - but I’m sensing he’s another Ismael Miller. Bookmark this.
Very little chance Louza plays again this season. And if he does, he will be nowhere near up to speed. Bilic’s comments about wanting midfielders clearly suggests he knows Louza is gone for this season.
Have you heard something then? I took from Bilic's comments this week that Louza was fully expected to come back, albeit only with a couple of months of the season left:
I disagree with this - we were all over them at the end of the game and their defence seemed knackered. The issue was more we took too long to get the intensity in our play which we finished the game with.
