No. Leeds had changed from blue and yellow to all-white when Don Revie decided it would be nice to be mistaken for Real Madrid. And Swansea were all-white before that.
Davis back is much needed. Gosling returning to RB in place of Gaspar is the right call for me (as is Choudhury obviously coming straight back in to the midfield). This won't be an easy game with the form Coventry are in, but at least we've got a decent team out.
With Davis back and that result cemented, it's a good opportunity to catch up that little bit with what is now a slightly lower league ceiling, points-wise. Hope we can take advantage of it.
Did anyone catch Conor Wickham from half way line, last kick of game today for Forest Green in FA Cup?? .... Touch for touch Sarr-esque v West Brom
Watching my local team Bradford Town today, I've been a complete bad luck charm since going to watch them, lost veery gane by more than 3 goals, still £3 a pint. Watford 4. -2 Coventry
Good line up. A bit harsh on Gaspar who played well the other night, but might be good to bring him in and out until he's up to speed
Not sure that’s a fair shout. He was neat and tidy, got up the pitch a bit and in the latter stages made one immense block. Admittedly he had a bit of a flap near the end too but then the whole defensive circus around him was wearing its big shoes and shiny red noses by that point.
He got caught flat-footed a few times in the second half and could have easily cost us a goal. For me he was our worst player.
Was that the League Cup replay on a Tuesday evening? Total bedlam in the away end as they'd not allocatecd a sufficiently large section for all the away fans they let in. As people were trying to get some breathing space by standing on the top row of the terracing, the OB decided that was a no-go area so started pushing and throwing people back into the crowd. Tension mounted until, when we went 3-0 down, a lot of people had had enough and things exploded a little, with the OB eventually leaving our section in favour of patrolling the fences instead.
Maybe not the seeming anomaly as first appears. The first 30 of those 47 years were spent in top flight, where they would never have been expected to challenge for top 6. The fun fact for me was up to their relegation from Premier League in 2001, they were the 3rd most ever-present team in top tier .... after Arsenal (1) and Everton (2)
Entertaining, but they are clearly well setup to counter us at any given opportunity. Sarr and Pedro need to have a much better 2nd half
Very well organised, this Coventry side. Just sit in there and play on the break. And they are doing it well. Very much a game where the first goal is all-important. The Watford attacks must speed up and just maybe a touch of magic may turn the game.
Got that 1-0 Coventry feeling ! We’re nit quite getting through and they are sharp on the break with the big number 17 a real threat .
This has been a really bad and very arrogant performance from us. A bunch of players, epitomised by Kamara, who felt like they just had to turn up to get a result and effort wasn’t needed. Coventry aren’t a bad side - but much like the Millwall game, we really look as if we didn’t do our homework on them and what their style is whatsoever.
Hey, it's cold and wet.... Could have predicted a poor performance.! Sarr never turns up on days like today.. Ever
