Then I’m happy you’re not part of the coaching set up. Would you play Salah there as he plays on the right?
He could still show his finishing from wing back by taking our penalties. But being serious, he would be totally wasted at wing back, he has to be in the front line.
Just realised there's an international break after this weekend. What's the betting he isn't fit for us on Saturday but plays for Senegal
Sarr off to Senegal it seems . Fit for them ? https://mobile.twitter.com/search?q=Sarr Senegal &src=typed_query
Watford FC social media team posting news of him off to play for his country is, if you ask me, just virtue senegalling.
Didn’t some suggest Sarr as a wing back ?! https://mobile.twitter.com/WD18Fans/status/1576951356161953792
Are we all ready to accept that this bloke really is nothing but an average to decent Championship player? Will pop up with the odd goal but really is just nothing special and mostly extremely boring to watch.
Careful now, the results only mob will be in with pitchforks before long, he scored so you have to ignore everyone else.
not sure how any of us could know that. I’d like to see what he can do when surrounded by quality players delivering great supply what he can’t do is carry an average champ squad on his own. We should have either sold him and used the money to upgrade the squad OR gone for it and created a semi decent squad around him
While I agree with the original point being made, it is true that he can't do it all on his own. He should be more assertive when he has the ball, but we also need to get the ball to him more. In hindsight, selling him for £25m or so and getting a RWB and depth in other areas would have been better for us than holding on to him and not being able to strengthen elsewhere, but it's telling that nobody wanted him enough!
Game 1 v Sheff Utd - created the goal that proved to be the winner. Game 2 v West Brom - scored our only goal that ensured we got something from the game. Game 4 didn't play. Game 5 didn't play. Game 6 v QPR - created one of our 2 goals. Game 7 v Middlesborough - scored the crucial opening goal. Game 8 didn't play. Game 9 didn't play most of the game. Game 10 didn't play. Game 11 v Stoke - created a goal and scored as well. Game 12 v Swansea - scored our goal in the game. When he is fit, he's been an important cog in the attacking wheel. I'm not saying he's perfect or that everything he has done has come off, however without his contributions we would really struggle. For the remainder of the season he just needs to stay fit and keep playing and continue with the goals and assists, and hope other players in the team can make telling runs and score, as he can't do it all on his own.
He’s **** mate. He cost £32m, at best for a championship player he’s performing like he cost £10m, and that’s being generous.
If the point you are making is that he shouldn't be in the current starting 11 then we can agree to disagree.
How an earth have you arrived at that conclusion from what I’ve said? The point is he’s not that good, just an above average championship player that we paid £32m for. That said, if we had any remotely decent alternatives to him then he definitely shouldn’t be a guaranteed starter based on his effort levels and his criminal lack of use of his one and only attribute.
He is almost comparable with Sema's output. The only difference being Sema doesn't cry off and miss games as regularly, and Sema stays involved through the whole game rather than the odd moment. When was the last time Sarr had a good game rather than an anonymous game with a decent moment? WBA was him all over - scored from his own half but his overall performance was utterly woeful. Five seconds of magic, 95 minutes of being a passenger.
He is protecting himself for Qatar. He nowhere near as influential as he should be. If,IF he returns from Qatar and is fit perhaps he'll start running at defenders.
After the World Cup it'll be the January transfer window, where I assume we'll be looking to move him on due to his contract situation. We've seen the best of Sarr once and that was a couple of years ago against Liverpool. Now he's just coasting until he gets out of here and I don't blame him.
On his day Sarr is up there with the best of them however he has too few "on his days" to gain a move to a big club as they don't expect too many average performance's . Although he has played under 10 managers since he came here and this cannot be a good thing for someone who is a "confidence" player" surely ?
You won't know about his injury unless you've had a word with the staff. I would say his last good game was against Stoke recently.
