Smoky bacon? I am sure that was the one to go for in the 1970s, and as is normal with these things. The smoky bacon is probably the only flavour suitable for vegans. As an aside, tonight we looked much better without Dennis. Probably due to the formation change. Or simply Sarr happy that Dennis is on his way.
I haven't had a packet of Quavers in years. I may buy some tomorrow to celebrate our win. I can relax thanks to Elliswick ladies being such flimsy jimmies and not wanting to play on Sunday because " it's too hot". Cheese I think...
I thought it was just JP he didn't get on with, albeit they were fine with each other after Sheffield United!
We looked more solid but only managed 5 shots in the whole game and scored with our only attempt on target. Tough opponents of course but we won’t win many games with so few shots. We are missing a real striker. Dennis may have been a selfish sod but he’d have added a few shots and maybe scored. Davis may be the answer though his goal stats have never been the strongest part of his game. On more important matters, I only remember the cheese quavers but never a great fan TBH.
Apparently not. Maybe both want to be the top dog. Or world cup animosity. All hear say, but in my opinion Sarr works harder when Dennis is not in the team.
SSN are crap but they're saying £12.5m with £7.5m in performance related add ons. That's a horrific deal if true.
Hopefully we aren’t relying on Forest staying up! Smacks a bit of Fulham a few seasons back when they brought loads jd players and couldn’t get a settled side .
I think that's a reflection of our dire financial crisis. I suspect Forest will be paying £12.5m upfront in one chunk which will ease Watford's cash flow problems. Even if all add-ons are met, it's a poor deal. He's easily worth £25m. Don't forget Brugge will be getting 10% too.
But we don't have such a thing apparently.. According to Duxbury we don't need to sell in a hurry etc.
It’s not £12.5m, we aren’t getting it in one instalment and Forest are paying extra to cover the sell on to Bruges. A number of people have told me it’s £15m, and £5m in achievable first-season add-on’s. We have a 10% sell-on for a future sale and Forest are paying £2m on top so the Bruges cut doesn’t come out of the fee. Total deal is £22m plus sell on.
£17m + £5m in add-ons (hopefully not based on Forest’s survival!), with a 10% sell-on isn’t bad. Kind of surprised there weren’t more takers at that price, but the Hodgson effect is counting against him.
Forest buying Neal Maupay for £15m+add on’s now. Either they are just not caring about how much they spend, they don’t care about spending £30m+ on 2 similar profile players….or Dennis has failed the medical.
I know they had a lot of players on loan but do Forest have no faith in their players from last season ?!
That is acceptable I guess (without knowing exactly what those 'achieveable add-ons' are!), how much will we be receiving up front, any ideas?
Given he passed our medical last year and played a full season, I doubt he failed the medical! Then again, with our medical team you never know...
None of us really know how this is being broken down. I still think the final total, if we ever get to that, and I assume relies on Forest staying up, is still a poor deal for Watford. We don't have too many high value players, and we've let him go for such a low fee. I just find it very disappointing.
Forest play with 2 strikers don't they? I don't know how many they have at the moment (Awoniyi, Brennan Johnson and who else?), so I guess it makes sense for them to sign Dennis and Maupay
This is what a club can do when the owner has the cash to bankroll the club and doesn’t care about the cost. They may wait another 30 years for their next chance to re establish themselves in the top tier so they are really going for it.
Surridge. Yeah think you're right, they play two up top, so would want at least 4 decent strikers on your books. They may think Surridge isn't up to Prem level. He was decent last season in the Championship.
Ah yes, I knew I'd forgotten someone! Surridge doesn't strike me as someone they'd want to stick with at Prem level tbf, especially when they're spending so much on other strikers
Exactly this. Now or never. They haven't signed anyone that they couldn't sell on for profit either. There's saying you're ambitious (us) and then showing you're ambitious (them).
I will miss him a bit. He gave his all in most matches and had moments of real quality. Had moments when he was quite selfish but I hardly blame him considered the way his teammates played at times. Not my favourite player ever, but I enjoyed watching him play. The fee should also have been higher imo. Good luck to him, but I believe he'll get relegated again.
Nobody could argue that this isn't decent business tbf. Really hope we keep Sarr and Pedro and add a capable midfielder, along with a left wingback. Reckon we'd then be in a strong position to win the league.
