Our lineup really needs a new centre mid, right back and centre back. And that's before we sell Sarr and/or Dennis. Still, COYH.
I remember that game. I got hastled by a van load of Blades fans when I walked along Whippendell Road on my tod to the match. Thankfully, they just put the wind up me rather than giving me a hiding. What a sh1tty trip home they must have had after we thumped them 5-0. Warms the cockles of my heart to this day.
Yes but we have no idea what the squad will look like at the end of the month. I'm sure even Cleverley is aware he won't be starting every game!
Can tell it’s the Championship.. Very low crowd - particularly in Family Stand. Although they have the flags .
Thoughts so far. formation/style feels like we've had to shoehorn Dennis and Sarr in there. Kamara is painfully wasted on the right. Dennis a class above. Sarr has regressed to Sema levels of ability
Get Laird and Gaspar in ASAP! Sign a quality HG CM. Sign a HG LCB before the next game as well. I would say we’ve been the better team. Sheff Utd have definitely got lucky with some of the deflections and blocks going their way. Their backline will be feeling it at HT keeping up with Sarr, Dennis and Pedro. Clark on a yellow. Should be playing on him more to get him sent off. Decent first half. Nice to see the players run around a bit for once.
A Agreed. Kamara will be an asset on the left. Hard to tell if Sarr is interested. An ok start. Sheff Utd look happy so far to be at 0-0. We need a playmaker and a central striker for sure
If we're going to play with 2 in the middle, this isn't the pairing. Kayembe is OK, but I don't think he's quick enough, and Cleverley is always going to give you 4/10. We just look overrun
Great start and result. Great atmosphere too. Onwards and upwards. Pretty much a stroll. However the midfield pairing needs changing and Kamara back to LWB. Louza plus one in midfield. Hopefully Dennis's performance won't see a big bid come in. Keep this lot and we'll be there at the end. Manaj decent cameo.
Deserved winners of a poor game. The worry comes if we can't keep Sarr and Dennis. So many poor players involved tonight. Sheff Utd poor as well I thought.
Wasn't bad, a bit rusty but expected. Need Kamara back to LWB and a new RWB in - Preferrably an attack minded playmaker in there for Clevs. If we lose Sarr or Dennis then god knows what we look like - Keep them the season may not be too bad.
Well I thought it was an exciting game to watch a win A clean sheet felt sure we would screw it up in the last 10 would be more worried about somebody buying JP than Sarr
Will those who panicked after we were winless after our first three friendlies finally acknowledge that such things really don’t matter lol?! Well done us. A great start. An exciting front three, tidy from Kayembe and defensively solid. Sema did relatively well too I thought. And with Louza, Gaspar, Laird and more still to come. Back to back goals from JP at the Vic. And Bachmann’s first clean sheet for two seasons. Dare I suggest when we’ve won at home for the first time all year, tonight’s the night to celebrate? Leave any criticisms for the morning. Oh and btw thank you ref for your part in the goal lol
Lovely win. Presumably no chance we keep Dennis and only slightly more chance we keep Sarr. Sadly heralds tedious commentary lines as the nights get longer, as they make pointless comments about how less dynamic and dangerous we look up front since the early games… Any ideas what happened in/around the 71st minute? Some bloke running on from the crowd demanding the game was stopped, but the authorities have said they’re not going in for that nonsense every match any more. Seemed to really prove a distraction and the crowd were silent (sounding on tv anyway) from then on in, which didn’t help the on field nerves at all. Bit surprised Rob didn’t use his bench more. Several players looked exhausted with 15 minutes to go but ended up seeing the game out.
Well I'm glad we won but gutted I missed 75% of it due to a family issue. But really glad we won - I will have to read all your posts to know how we played. I did see we started well with Sarr almost getting a goal early on. Thirteen games without a home win. Curse is lifted. Well done lads, solid win and a clean sheet with several players out of position. Do I dare ask how King Ken was? Really hope you enjoyed it those who went and were in the shout box.
Twitter sighting: "Cleverley has been magnificent. Controlling midfield and helping out all over the pitch"
