Well I guess we will see if he up to it v Newcastle and Norwich. If the guy plays and looks out of his depth that will be a sign he maybe isn’t good enough
Louza looked well out of his depth against Brighton but now it looks like he's a vital part of our midfield.
True but the point was if Kayembe looks poor in the next few games then he might not be up to it, so I used Louza as an example that that's not always correct.
Yeah. I wasn’t disagreeing - I was just further highlighting your point that 1-2 games isn’t sufficient body of evidence either way.
Well we desperately needed a body in midfield but not his position. If this means the Fat Turk is leaving and he's his replacement ok but we still need a proper defensive midfielder to come in.
Such a shame Papa Gueye never came, doesn't he rank high on like all the metrics for DM type qualities?
Putting aside issues of quality, he seems to be an Etebo/Sissoko style box-to-box midfielder, which I guess is fine, Etebo won't be fit for a while and if something were to happen to Sissoko we need someone to fill the gap, although right now there is more immediate need for a direct Louza replacement or a genuine defensive midfielder
Every midfielder is a ‘box to box’ midfielder really. It’s the very definition of being in the middle. Some just get forward more than others. The question is, ‘is he any good’?
Given the fact that we are mostly linked with African players, I wonder why we aren't linked with Innocent Bonke at Molde. To be honest I only watched him play in this seasons Champions league and I think he we is what we need. Can protect the back 4, can tackle, looks confident with the ball at his feet, plus he is tall so I think his height can also help in defending set piece. The only downside is, he doesn't have a good scoring record, but he will jump at the chance to play in the EPL as it could help him get more invitation to the national team. The internet can't seem to decide whether this guy's name is actually Innocent Bonke, or Bonke Innocent. One a justification, the other a best practices instruction.
