It doesn’t even look like his previous role involved a lot of proficiency in data or anything like that (like, say, Michael Edwards). Very similar to Fulham and Tony Khan, but he had at least been working in sports analytics for his dad’s NFL team for the previous 7 years.
Ben Wilmot has added scrappy goals to his game now: https://twitter.com/DeclanFoster58/status/1478036855530696709?t=lhfpW75_m5yrvzHjEJkrxQ&s=19
But forgotten how to defend at the other end? Has some sort of illness I believe. Good comeback by Derby (without Wayne Rooney) - 2 goals in the last 5 minutes. Certainly not giving up easily.
King Marco at it again. 7-0 away win. Fulham having exactly the season we should have had, but we decided to hire 2 useless cunnies as manager instead.
First win in 10 apparently though! Luton v Bournemouth. Luton 2-0 up and could be 3 but Bournemouth got the officials to disallowed a goal (maybe it was offside?)
2-2.. Nathan Jones still having a hissy fit about that disallowed goal which tbf was probably offside.
I've been cheering on Luton (as not many do) but I have to say that Muff's cheating culture seems to have left with St Eddie and his sidekick. I still hate them cos of their fans, though. Brilliant last-second winner for Luton!
Looks like Muff are hanging on the top two with their finger tips. Have to say fair play to Lootown today - they deserved it.
Seems Derby's future basically lies with 2 clubs and their threat of legal action. Can see why Wycombe will feel cheating out of staying up but can Middlesborough really say they would have got promoted via the play-offs had Derby not pipped them to a place. Still would have had to face 2 sides in those play-offs and beat them https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/60040400
Another 5 goals and counting for king Marco I see. I'd sacrifice 75% of the posters on here in a barbaric aztec blood ritual to have him back. Dead serious.
I'm coming round to RC's view that had Silva been in charge instead of Xisco the football would've been better. It was good to watch after the formation change but apart from Bristol City who were likely basically downing tools to get their manager sacked, we never really destroyed anyone. We wouldn't have been as free-scoring as we didn't have any good strikers but given Fulham scored six tonight without any goals or assists from Mitrovic it's at least possible we would've scored quite a bit more and while we wouldn't have set records for defence or clean sheets it would've been more entertaining overall. Fulham are on course to get 124 goals and Mitrovic to get almost 50 if he plays the full 90 minutes of every remaining game this season - quite incredible.
They had a little blip but really found their mojo getting goals from all areas . Wilson finding his level maybe at this stage in his career . Even Chalobah came on and got an assist .
Isn’t the issue the potential claims WW and Boro have, which are putting off potential owners not knowing if/what they might need to pay them both?
Thoroughly looking forward to being back in the championship next season. Yet again it’s proving to be the most competitive and entertaining league in the world.
Bournemouth continue to stumble, shame about Blackburn losing to Hull midweek. I'd enjoy their situation more if it weren't for the fact that we look almost certain to be back in the Championship and playing them yet again.
Quite enjoyed watching QPR v Swansea tonight. Decent game, players played with pashun and commitment, fans on both sides had a highly entertaining game where both sets of players gave everything. A throwback to simpler times.
He’s not really done it at WBA, but then again Barnsley couldn’t be any worse without him if they tried.
If that was the criticism/reaction to a 3-0 home win, I wouldn’t want to be him following their first home defeat of the season tonight against Preston. Fallen out with Sam Johnstone too who was excluded from the squad. I think his days would be numbered but he has a four year contract so would be due a lot of compensation and WBA fans think the club can’t afford it. If I recall correctly Luke Dowling really wanted to get Wilder and then resigned/was fired when the owner decided to get Ismael instead. Seems an error to me (although I do think Ismael is a decent manager for the level - just not so suited to manage a team with higher expectations).
Have to really give Blackburn a lot of credit this season. Best they have been playing since they were last relegated from the PL. I would love them to go up automatically instead of Muff - looks like Fulham are going to "Sunderland" it to the title. Even Lootown are having a good season - and that's not easy to look at.
