For what it’s worth Anthony Caci is meant to be quite good. Not the best in the air but versatile, a good passer and v good defensively. Would be v happy with us signing him in Jan or on a free at the end of the season but I reckon he heads to Germany instead.
Just strikes me as a younger Femenia. Full-back who can play either side, and occasionally on the wing. We need better, not more of the same IMO.
I think he’s played CB more than as a winger. Also he profiles pretty well on FBref (https://fbref.com/en/players/0118c54c/Anthony-Caci) and if we can get him to hit the heights he reached in 19-20 then we’ll have done v well indeed.
Can he play midfield too? http://sportwitness.co.uk/watford-positioned-signing-clubs-chances-keeping-player-almost-zero/
Thank you ever so much @reids. You're a gem. I do like the look of Avila and Bataille in particular from overseas. Avila and Zima would make a nice complementary pairing.
Reminds me, of two of the most disappointing Christmas presents I received in childhood. Spirograph, that was good, but I could never get results as good as the pictures, and Etcher Sketch which was utter rubbish.
Just spoke to the Father in Law and there's a bid in for Diawara but surprise surprise it's short of what Roma want also enquiries made again about Jordan Lakaku at Lazio.
Probably a bit beyond us - but widely reported that Lucas Digne has fallen out with Benitez (was dropped from squad on Monday) and will be sold in January. Now there's a player that would fit the bill.
The guy literally isn’t a footballer anymore. This isn’t a Sissoko or even a Danny Rose scenario. This bloke is mid 20s and hates the game but plays it as it’s highly lucrative all because he was decent for one season. But it’d please the Spurs fans infesting our supporter base. Who would only refer to him by his first name.
If defence of first-name only use, he did ask not to be referred to by his family name due to being given away to adoptive parents as a kid.
Apparently he has surrounded himself with nasty, greedy opportunists who have exploited him and he's now a gibbering wreck of his once glorious self. He has that silly Medusa hair style too.
Really nice guy in fairness, great attitude as well — just hasn’t happened for him in recent years. Not a bad player, just needs a new scenery. Would have him here all day long
I know you said it for dramatic effect but a bit harsh! 15/16 - 10 goals and 9 assists in 33 16/17 - 18 goals and 9 assists in 37 17/18 - 9 goals and 11 assists in 36 Then the downward trajectory starts. Dele has two problems, he doesn't have many obvious stand-out technical or physical attributes. He's not a fantastic dribbler or scarily quick, he makes good late runs into the box and is a good finisher. A liiiiitle bit Lampard-esque without the long range shooting. His second problem is, the position he plays, doesn't really exist in many teams anymore. He needs to play #10 with minimal defensive responsibility and with two hard-working midfielders behind him anchoring and cleaning up. Whilst also needing pace either side of him and a great striker ahead of him to give him the space to operate. He would be a great fit for a team willing to build the system around him whilst having other threats to give him the space required, but he's not really very compatible otherwise.
Ali could give a response like Lingard did for the Hammers imo. Why he's dropped off on form and out of the team I don't know. But as @wfcSinatra said is he really a grafter helping out the guys defensively? Anyways we need defenders. The more I read the more quality defenders are getting touted and mentioned by other clubs. Rodon @ Spurs Sarr @ Chelsea both left footers and available on loan or transfer. Admittedly not seen anywhere near enough of Sarr but was highly thought of before joining Chelsea. Rugani @ Juventus can't get any minutes. A pipedream maybe but is an absolute class defender even though he's not the fastest. Worrell @ Forest who was excellent I thought against Sarr last season. Fry @ Boro who is another defender who needs a move. All depends on where we are in the league I suppose and what kind of pulling power Ranieri has as a coach. But the club are going to have to dig deep. But it wouldn't surprise me if a couple could be brought in on a loan to buy come January.
Nat Phillips has confirmed he wants to leave Liverpool in January and they, or Klopp, won’t stand in his way. https://www.skysports.com/share/12496692
He's had some great PR and on that alone will be: 1) Out of our price range 2) Go to a team better than us Even though he's probably not as good as the press is making him out to be.
Yeah, he’s probably a move away from us yet. We’ll sign him when he comes to nothing at a bigger fish.
Agree with both points. West Ham for an inflated fee written all over him. But he is good enough for us if we could pull it off - which we won’t.
I’m skeptical on him because he looked very bad at Liverpool but also quite good at times, wasn’t that great in Germany either. Hard to know what level he’s actually at
