I have just seen Jamie Carragher say United have one of the most expensive squads in Europe and Watford are awful.
Great performance and win. Probably a good time to play them. Ole has to go and they'll be stronger. Football is about the great memories from days like today.
I travelled down, I got drunk, I bloody loved the game I am still drunk. For the love of God please stop tempting fate with some of these chants during the match when were winning!
Turn it into extract, take a few drops each day and before you know it you'll have so much time on your hands in the morning you won't know what to do with yourself
That was great ! It’s been a while since we’ve had an afternoon like that at the Vic. I was feeling pretty pessimistic as I didn’t think Ed would be able to keep them out , but Claudio has clearly been working on their pressing as we just didn’t let utd settle and we really grew into the game. We really could have had 5 or six though Foster also made a few great saves .We pushed and harried and make sure we put the ball in the right areas to hurt them. Once again we showed what we all know . That we have some excellent t forward players and if we can get the ball to them in and around the opponents box we will be dangerous . Dennis and King worked their socks off and were both excellent . I thought Louza looked decent and comfortable on the ball . Nkolou clearly makes a difference as well . Shame about the Penalty misses. Sarr just looks like he really lacks confidence at the moment , though hopefully his goal will help him . just need to keep that level up and we will be Fine .
Some good and bad points from today. The bad. I hate this fixture with all the plastic fans. How do they all get tickets. As the players lined up before the game in front the LGT, there must have been 20 or 30 taking photos in front of me. Not one of them pointed at the team in yellow. The good. Everything else. A result fit to honour Kev Norman with
Fantastic game and result, one question why does Dennis have to remove his shirt after scoring can’t someone have a word with him, the inevitable booking could see him being banned if he keeps scoring! We just have to start winning some of the games against the lesser teams now!
Manchester United board call emergency meeting to discuss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s future as manager https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/...=Social&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1637431872
when Liverpool beat us one of the **** commentators said you can only beat what is in front of you , not our fault we made the most of our game and Man Utd didn’t turn up. Ronaldo is worth more than our squad and probably gets paid more than all of squad together. to be fair to the commentator I was watching they were full of praise for us based on today, Dennis or Ronaldo - easy choice
Absolutely what Keighley said - plus, this game is likely to be the straw that breaks the camel’s back re Solskjaer so it’s no wonder the coverage is concentrating on United’s bad form. On 5Live on the way home, all the Utd fans - as well as the Watford fans featured - were acknowledging that Watford didn’t just beat United, we annihilated them (especially in the first half).
Football is all about feelings; positives and negatives. Today showed once again both sides of the coin. Basically any set of players have a chance to succeed, if they play to their potential and have a plan what they follow. It means that the other team has to match that performance. We had players today who succeeded against, if not better, but more valuable players. Our system and performance affected those other players so, that they were not able to play their best game. They made mistakes. It also meant that our often not so much appreciated defence was able to play without being all the time under pressure. They looked good when needed. They are good enough. Maeby we have decent enough set of players; if only they are managed proberly. As they now seem to be. Sometimes as a fan there seems to come a time when You are starving for a player to score. Gray was one of those for me. Earlier players like Senior and Moralee also; for me anyway! Today was the biggest relief of all time for me when Sarr eventually scored. There is a difference between Dennis and Sarr. Former seems to attack every time against the opposition and the latter one waits for too long before making a move. Their self confidence seems to be on different level. Even though they both have a chance to shine as they are skillfull. I believe that Mane had a point when he mentioned to our senior players that this kid should be looked after. Mane knew him and his failures. That mission still needs to be accomplished! Social media gives people a chance to express their feelings; especially the negative ones. And that is good if it saves that persons near ones of negative athmosphere and if the abuse is not targeted against an ordinary individual. If someone needs to abuse our own players then this is a good place, because i believe that the players are not here reading those words. Therefore this is definately a better place than shouting from the stands. Shouting from the stands should be to support, at least the individuals. I think I know what kind of messages gets better performances out of players; the positive ones. Thats why I hope that Sarr, and others, are given a chance to fully blossom to the level we hope they should achieve. Today he showed that he cares by his "celebration". Thats why he deserves our support. And our three ex-Reds didn`t actually do themselves any harm with their performances...
Our forward line is made to go at teams and attack and I thought we took the game to United brilliantly today, and scared the bejeezus out of them. As much as they were poop I think we were equally as good. Other than the idiots fawning over the United players at the front of the LGT, today was thoroughly enjoyable from start to finish. They really did make me nauseous.
I used to find Carragher insufferable but when I saw that clip I just thought "Baldrick the cocker spaniel PLEASE"!
It works in our favour anyway. 3 of our 4 wins this season were against teams who thought they just had to turn up to beat us. In Sport it's good to be underestimated by your opponent. I think the underdog mentality really suits us.
I love it when we press effectively and force the opposition into mistakes. Helpfully, Man Untied were hopeless at playing out from the back and rarely, if ever, caught us on the break. Why don't we do it more? It annoys me when the opposition defenders slowly advance up towards the halfway line, knocking it between themselves unopposed, whilst we gradually retreat.
What an afternoon. Not just the result itself, but the way we got it - it felt like a true team performance, which is what has been missing for so long, even in the games we’ve won. Couldn’t really fault any of the players (well, I could fault Masina and Sarr but it seems a bit churlish to do so right now). And the atmosphere at the Vic was by far the best so far this season. It’s been a long time since there’s been singing on the walk back from The Rookery. Everything fell into place today - even the queues into the ground moved quickly. For various reasons this was the last game I could get to this side of Christmas, so I’ll take this as a very welcome - and surprising - early Christmas present from Watford!
agreed , I know Sarr needs to be more positive towards goal but today half of the problem united had was the speed of our front three. Teams are targeting Sarr as they can see the danger he brings, lightning fast , tricky and an ok ish 50:50 shooting ability , however this is giving more space to Dennis and King. Will be interesting to see if teams now start targeting Dennis rather than Sarr , freeing Sarr back up. I am hoping playing with Dennis will do Sarr a lot of good, if Sarr can learn to be stronger and goal focused like Dennis he is going to be an astonishing player, let’s be honest we have always known that if Sarr was the finished product he wouldn’t be playing for us. however, let’s not have him on penalty duty any more
Carragher not really being very charitable to us but also rubbing it in to the Man U fans ? https://mobile.twitter.com/footballdaily/status/1462145736594923522
