Tidy finish first time from a great pass tbf. Didn’t have to think about what to do which is often his problem.
Sadly he will reject us and join L*ton as a free agent before firing them to promotion next season at our expense, including a hat-trick home and away. It's written in the stars.
Wasn't it £12m plus add ons ? I remember being really excited at signing a proven prem goalscorer from a relegation rival. But then again I thought Dawson and Welbeck looked excellent signings at the time.
Certainly not worth being our most paid player ! I guess we brought Gray for his pace alongside Deeney but he really lacked in other areas of hie game .
Fair. I wasn't particularly excited by it, but did not expect him to be as **** at football as he was
Kept Delefeo warming the bench in some games under Gracia including the FA Cup semi final, so he couldn't have been that bad, unless you think Delefeo is bad as well. Despite having a weakish first touch, he scored a few important goals for us, and set up the winner at Wembley. We had 3 attackers and only room for 2. He just couldn't sustain a run in the team against our captain and a technically gifted player like Delefeo in keeping them out in the side in the end, particularly as he started to miss some good chances in games to score, and when Gracia left that was it, he didn't play/lost his form. Compared to the above, as mentioned, we've had players in our history, that have contributed next to nothing or nothing. And this last point isn't aimed at you, but what's the obsession with some folk with Gray whilst at another club? Its bizarre. If he isn't doing well, so what? Nothing new when players move, it either works out or it don't. Its like some were born yesterday, with no idea of how football can be sometimes.
It may have been, but unless we were in the same room as him on the day when signing, we wont know for sure.
Imagine the furore if Delefeou hadn't dug the team out of a hole in that semi final? Yes AG was involved in the winner , no doubt. But AG missed 2 sitters that day . Had he scored then Geri need not have had to be a super hero
That's one game where GD did particularly well. In some other games AG scored when other players didn't. Every game has 'moments' as Ruud Gullit used to say .
I think it is a related but alternative problem. Hamstrung, through a sheer lack of any semblance of talent.
You barefacedly make this remark whilst repeatedly inventing a footballer who has never played for us to use as an excuse for Gray's abysmal performances. Shocking.
That isn’t how football works though. Plenty of good players have been benched in favour of lesser players. It’s like saying we must all think Sierralta is crap because he’s on the bench whilst Cathcart plays. And as for your last point - it’s entirely fair that Watford fans comment on a player who is officially contracted to the club and still costing a big old whack in wages. There’s nothing bizarre about it - apart from your continued protestations that he wasn’t a terrible, terrible signing in the face of tons of sensible opinions telling you otherwise and the overwhelming evidence to the contrary.
