Rumour in the queue to get out of the stand - Chris Wilder has been spoken to by Watford. Could be just desperation from a very subdued away crowd - looks Pearson like
It’s all a bit of a mess, I think their end game was Mazzari and then when that didn’t work it’s just been plugging holes in an ever decreasing circle, until they eventually landed on a guy who’d managed 8 games in Latvia. Where do you go from there? It wouldn’t be so bad if Gino stuck to his old philosophy, a specific manager for a specific job, but he’s even lost sight of that, so he squandered an entire pre season and the start of this season backing a guy that deep down, he probably knew was out of his depth and not the right man for the task. What makes Munoz different to Joka, other than being less qualified? It just seems to have spiralled out of control from our relegation season with Gino making more and more bizarre decisions with no actual plan. He’s going to be forced into another stop gap yet again, because he didn’t make the right call in the summer.
Wouldn't be turning Wilder down at this point but given why he left Sheff, I cannot imagine a coach less likely to agree to work under the Pozzo model than him. The only possible way is if he is so desperate and so not inundated with the job offers he thought he would receive that he can't say no - even if that is the case, though, it might be a bit of a recipe for disaster. Also, he plays three centre backs with one famously overlapping, and I'm not sure we even have three centre backs at the club at this point, let alone one who can carry the ball.
I was wondering what your verdict was. Does "disgustingly bad" make it the worst this season for you? I thought at least against Brighton, Wolves and Newcastle we had some sporadic threat, but this time we offered nothing and you've probably gathered by now I've been one of Xisco's advocates up till now.
Well exactly. Any rumour that involves a coach who normally has more than superficial involvement in the building of their squad can be ruled out straight away. And I assume that includes Wilder.
Xisco is a nice guy, but l think he will be gone before the International break ends. Just not experienced enough and it shows. No game plan at all and we have been very poor in 5 of the 7 games. Norwich are not up to the Premier league level. No idea who will be the new Head Coach
He likes to play 3 central defenders rotating as attacking full backs . Canmot see any of our current back line doing that !!
Good one. I will take the money. It will take something extraordinary to avoid relegation. The players are not good enough. The job is a poison chalice.
Don’t put it past Gino to hire a bloke who was battered out of the PL last season whilst working under conditions he won’t allow though.
While I don’t disagree about Munoz being out of his depth in this league, I doubt he instructed the players to only pass the ball to white shirts this afternoon.
The frustrating thing is I can’t find a betting site that is offering odds on the next PL to be sacked. Surely this is a racing certainty
It is kind of his job to coach it out/provide a system that mostly stops them from doing that, though.
Agreed, but he can coach the players to provide more options for the player who has the ball. Troost-Ekong is **** with the ball but more often than not his only pass is to Sierralta because everyone else has run away from him. We are so incredibly easy to defend against when we have the ball in our own half.
https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/19621347.xisco-munoz-felt-leeds-united-wanted-win-watford/ More gibberish. Take full responsibility - or lay bare that the players were prepared well and didn’t follow through on the plan. This constant middle ground only widens the belief that they do the same things over and over again and expect different outcomes.
I would definitely have Ivic back, yes the football was terrible but only in the context of us having pretty much the best team in the league and being overly defensive. Staying in the premier league is a grind, but however you achieve it grinding results out is still entertaining, and I’m confident he’d be more capable of doing that than Munoz. Today was about as far from entertaining as you can possibly get, I’d happily trade today for boring football and the odd result and a semi competent display of how to play football.
