Don't want to moan a lot about the first half performance because we all seen the game and know that wasn't good enough. However, we do need to be miles better than that first half display, if we was playing someone better than Newcastle it would have been game over at half time. Second half we were a lot better and Tufan made a massive difference, probably because Cleverley was so bad. Went ape **** when King scored so was gut wrenching when that was dissalowed. 4 points fron Norwich and Newcastle isn't a bad return.
Right now I'd say we're probably slightly below par, definitely should be looking to target Leeds away seeing as they haven't got off to a good start and seeing how open they are
We should have been smashed out of the park. How we've walked away with a point is incredible. We can't afford to play kamikaze stuff like that in this division or we'll get humiliated.
NEW VIDEO DROPPED I make a mistake - WHOOPS Saint-Maximin is a baller! Aussie ref is a legend! Come on the boys!
His goals per minute record for us was actually pretty decent, but it doesn't change the fact that he's a terrible footballer and that we'd probably be down already if he were our starting striker now lol
Jotting down most my immediate post match thoughts. That first half was for the large part awful, looked to be no game plan at all. Cleverley’s vague impression of a footballer was poor. Cathcart nearly gifted them a goal, haven’t I seen that before? We constantly ignored Femenia Troost Ekong was quietly impressive. Second half King should’ve fed Sarr instead of trying to be 3 men himself. Tufan should’ve slid in Sarr / King at one point too, we really should’ve nicked a winner. Joao Pedro looked way better than I even remember, very tidy. Wtf has Sirereltta done to Xisco? Sissoko excellent Kucka poor again Decent cameo from Etebo Not sure if I credit Xisco for getting it fixed and much better second half or question why he got it so wrong in the first place. Saint Maximin is a brilliant player to watch End to that second half was throughly entertaining football. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ah thanks, didnt know that, dont pay too much interest to other teams. Still we are where we are meant to be though. Another 30 pointer coming up then.
That is totally uncalled for, yeah he ****ed up today but he is a top bloke and is a great servant to the club. I suggest that you delete it please.
Exactly, he doesn't improve the team as a whole. If an infinite number of monkeys had an infinite number of typewriters, one of them would score 5 goals in the championship though a scuff, point-blank deflection or off their ar$e.
None of the saves he made were anything more than routine tbf, as a shot-stopper I'm convinced Bachmann is better, although obviously that's not the only aspect of keeping!
Things Ben Foster is more passionate about than football: Cycling You Tube Ketchup Collecting shirts of 'top' players He may be a nice guy, but passionate about doing well for Watford, I don't think so.
Cannot really complain about King’s goal being offside tbh. Ref let them time waste a lot and now did no one get sent off.
Before the game nobody takes a draw. After the first half, yes, a draw is a good result. Not convinced by Xisco after today
His running and movement clearly improve the team as a whole. He had the best minutes per goal at Watford during the 3 seasons he wasnt injured. We got relegated the season he barely played. Both Gray and Deeney have continued in exactly the same manner this season. Gray has scored 2 goals from open play in 213 minutes. Deeney has converted a penalty, talked his way into the team and got them to play a formation that suits him nit them. In the 2 games against **** teams Deeney has started Birmingham failed to score in both games. Both players are going true to form. Watford fans who liked Deeney and abused Gray were confusing persona for end product. Imagine if Gray had been treated like Deeney and vice versa. Couldve been a very different story. If Gray gets 2000 minutes this season he'll score 12 to 15 goals. Deeney will score less than 5 goals from open play, maybe 1 or 2.
Newcastle came to spoil and break up play and with the ref playing his part they succeeded. We fell for it and after a bright start we got frustrated and the performance descended to lower and lower depths. It is clear our main problem is in the midfield and the shape and formation we play. As yet the best formation and players has still not been found but when it does the results will improve. Also there is now a lack of confidence about playing out from the back. Having seen Sierralta in mid week I suspect we will change Cathcart with Kabasele next week. Personally I thought Newcastle were there for the taking by any decent team, even by us as we struggled through a poor performance yet could have won it. For me Foster was motm as he saved a number of shots and 1 on 1's. Clearly we need to improve a lot for next week but think we will get a result. As for Cleverley, the ref and physios should have made the decision at the time to substitute him, not 30 mins later at half time. It was affecting him and the team playing on.
I'll take 4 points from the last 2 games and not kickstarting Norwich or Newcastle's seasons. But it's looking like it's gonna be very tough to finish outside the bottom 3 this season.
Only 4 mins stoppage time for 7 subs and match long time-wasting. Also Ritchie escaping an early yellow card set the tone for a very poor refereeing performance.
Yes Gray would have been popular had he cost 500k and scored 140 goals and Deeney unpopular if he cost 18 million and earned 70 a week. Not that our current strikers look prolific tbh but can see the potential there .
We were lucky it was a Bruce 'coached' Newcastle. Somebody half decent in front of goal would have had the match ball.
