    "Forever love Steffi Graff"?

    So far...

How anyone can claim to be legitimately have turned a corner and/or be challenging for Europe whilst starting both Alex Iwobi and Andros Townsend, I will never know.

I think Everton have major FFP issues after spunking oodles of cash season in season out with no end result. No doubt they’re talking a good game, but employing Rafa and signing players like Andros Townsend tells a very different story.

Interesting - they certainly have spent absolute retardo amounts over the past 5 years or so, for sure.

Everton look pretty toothless without Richarlison & DCL. They'll need them back quickly if they're to stand any chance of nabbing a Euro spot.

Richarlison won't be hanging around much longer the way it's going - out injured for a while as well

They had the worst keeper in the Premier League playing as well. Begovic is truly hopeless. It was a good time to play Everton today.

I think that result proves Brighton are not that good given Everton won 2-0 at their place. Hopefully that means one more team to add to the mix, but let's see how they get on against Leicester tomorrow, because I don't trust them against the weaker sides.

Hilarious how commentators say we should sympathise with them. They've tried to buy success and it's been an utter failure. Good riddance

Good point. Every time we have survived, we have done so comfortably. Even on a shoestring in the Championship this has been the case

And the two occasions (I don't think there have been any other - perhaps some older Watford fans might be able to correct me on this?) when we've taken it to the last day - 1996 and 2020 - we've gone down, although in 1996 we would've gone down even if we'd beaten Leicester 10-0 thanks to results going against us. Perhaps the lesson is we need to be safe before the Chelsea game...

I think this result goes to show that anything can happen in a one-off game! Villa are a good side who look to have found their feet (thankfully they didn't find them a month ago!), Everton will be solidly in mid-table, and so will Brighton and Wolves more than likely than not

How on earth did palace not get a penalty against Liverpool? Surely VAR has to look at that?

Man City also getting the rub of the green with VAR too.

Just seen the Marcal pen on MOTD, he was all over King last week as well and at one point had his hand round his throat.

    Danny Welbeck fit and scoring..

Brighton doing well although the penalty they got was very harsh on Leicester.

Then again it was Stuart Atwell...

Huge weekend next - 4 of the bottom 5 away from home with tough looking fixtures. Beat the Geordies and we have some breathing space

    Yes that is his point.

Are the VAR screens not in action today?

Seems to be a few calls where potentially decisions could have been changed if refs had been told to do so.

Yes - De Gea actually saves one too.

Surely one of the other West Ham attackers could have taken it.

Still saves everyone a week from Man U moaning!

Daft decision although probably correct outcome as Zouma on Ron looked a pen just before the WHU one.

I just don’t get the mentality of bringing someone on to take a pen, it means the expectation is sky high for them to score, you’re basically putting them on a hiding to nothing.

Fair play to Brighton though, could be this years West Ham.

Yes - 5 live had it down as 2 penalties for Ronaldo but the ref was probably too nervous to give them.

Wouldn't get out of West Ham alive.

I felt Ronaldo was already going down in anticipation of the contact which then barely came. Not a pen for me.

And I guess reputation does some preceded you.

The fact he went down 3 times and didn't get any says something.

Doesn't happen often to Man U players!

That’s three defeats already for Leicester, after a win on the opening day.

Not really looking like the team most likely to give the big four a run for their money again.

Defeats so far today for both the clubs who played in Europe on Thursday, with Spurs yet to come.
