Was thinking myself that Becao looks likely, Udinese can’t agree deal with Torino and player wants to move
He or Samir would be decent but they both have started both Serie A games so far this season so I can’t see it.
Don’t think a deal will actually materialise unless Udinese get another CB, that said I’ve no clue why they are negotiating with Torino for him. Panzo more likely…
Brilliant one from that donut on Transfer Centre on Mbappe transfer. "I told the people involved in the negotiations to let me know exactly what is going on. The deadline has passed 2 minutes ago. I've had no information from them"
On Panzo, can anyone confirm my thinking that despite being English, he would not count as HG when he is old enough that he’d need to be registered? This season he’s U21, so young enough not to take a squad place. Next season, however, he would need to take one. Looking at his Wikipedia, he moved to France a few months before his 18th birthday, meaning he spent about 2.75 years with an English club (Chelsea) between the ages of 15 and 21 (from 15 to 17.75), rather than the minimum requirement of 3. This would mean despite being English, he wouldn’t be homegrown - which is the situation Dier’s in at Spurs.
The Premier League definitions that matter are: So surely he qualifies as he was at Chelsea from the age of 9 (according to Wiki)?
So would this season count as his 3rd season? Or if it only needs to total 36 months then he’s about 4 months shy.
I’ve just added a bit more to my post. And I don’t see the 15 years old cut off anywhere? May have missed it…
I think @UEA_Hornet is saying that his many seasons in the Chelsea academy should suffice seeing as he will have been there since the age of 9 but even if not and there is a cutoff from the age of 15 or whatever then this would be his third season and should also suffice.
I was clearly a bit too keen to respond! I had the 15-21 age range in mind and I think it was from this: https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www....r-league-clubs-need-to-sign-homegrown-players which, re-reading, is the UEFA rule rather than the PL one! So when we get in to the Europa League next season that would have to be a consideration (if we sign him). Thanks for the research!
I replied before he added his comment re. years counting prior to him turning 15. I think from that wording his youth football days should definitely suffice.
The fact that the club are supposedly keeping Panzo on ice doesn't strike me with much confidence Re. their perception of his abilities/immediate PL readiness
I'd say this is more likely. Not sure we're going to be able to convince Van Dijk to join before the deadline though.
Prediction for tomorrow: 8.00am - Leventhal gives us his deadline day update saying Quina could leave OR he could well stay. 8.30am - Bournemouth Echo say Quina is having a medical with Bournemouth. 11.00am - Bournemouth Echo say Quina to Bournemouth is done. 12.00pm - breaking news from Leventhal says Quina is having a medical with Bournemouth. 2.00pm - Quina is confirmed by Bournemouth. 2.02pm - thumbs up from Leventhal.
Muff are battling Burnley for Ryan Christie from Celtic. Don’t watch that s**** league north of the border but from a quick google I understand he’s an attacking midfielder. Maybe Dom’s only their backup? Or someone else is close to signing him?
Ozan Kubak is a great signing for Norwich. Can't help but feel a bit worried about CB. https://twitter.com/ElBobble/status/1431328703905243142 Meanwhile, Nkounkou from Everton would be a good loan signing at LB IMO, Masina is just not good enough.
Had a bad time at Liverpool but he must’ve shown something in Germany for them to have come in for him in the first place. Norwich doing some good business at the end of the window.
He has a years option. But not sure if both parties have to agree or whether we can unilaterally extend it. Still think it’s kicking the can down the road and not sure what a loan to CSKA Sofia achieves - even if he’s immense over there, we still won’t deem him good enough for English football. May as well cut our losses now on him if possible.
There is a player in there, but he still plays like a 16 year old. Should have gone on loan to a championship club a few years ago, as with Tom Dele Bashiru. Might not have made a difference but I really don't think we set these players up to succeed. If there is an option to extend I think it is still useful to retain. If we do end up going down this season, how many of Etebo, Kucka, Tufan and Sissoko will be keen to stick around in the championship?
Navarro is simply a lost cause, but ideally I'd want us to sell Quina to someone half decent, a loan to the middle of nowhere helps nobody
Ideally we will be able to bring in a decent CB & FB. However, I can't help wondering if our game plan is to utilise the abundance of CMF's we have as emergency stand in CB's & FB's if and when needed, as a fair few of them are listed as being able to play in those positions?
Newcastle in for Brooks at Muff .... maybe the rumours of Quina to Muff a couple of weeks ago was dependent on the Brooks situation ?
