They've still got a very small squad. A couple of injuries to key players and they could be bang in trouble tbf.

Would 100% take a point in our next game though

How did Jimenez play? Watched the last 20 mins, I don't know if he was on the pitch, but they did miss loads of chances. Kieffer Moore is linked with them, they could do worse!

Not sure. Unless he starts scoring they will struggle. Troare's finishing is woeful (I apologize for his inevitable hat-trick at the Vic in a couple of weeks)

Wolves are gash, they haven't got a point and haven't scored a single goal. Should be aiming for a win against them.

I think it is going to be an extremely busy deadline day if the window as a whole is anything to go by. Watford could do with two more players and we haven't used the line "we've concluded our business" like many do.

The thing is about that, when the game is over most of us leave the premises whilst at Spurs on Sunday their main bar remained open for at least 2 hours with many thousands in there, all probably drinking 2 or 3 drinks each plus food, watching the next match on the screens etc etc. That's a lot of money being taken and we need to create that sort of area somehow and I don't think the Vic has the ability to take us another 100 years, maybe 20 or 30 but if we are to survive in the modern age we have to evolve and grow.

Grow and evolve into what though?? We have already evolved and grown. What is happening right now is peak Watford. The club could easily purchase a premises near the ground and turn it into a Watford temple with alcohol and have deals for ST holders without moving to a new stadium. Admittedly their version would be somewhat less X rated than mine and the hornettas would b drinking not dancing with poles. But they could make it the best place in Watford to watch games on TV/ have exclusive content from players on the screens etc.

Realistically though the only way a club like us can make it to/stay in the PL is if we hit the jackpot with a manger (GT) players (Blissett/Barnes, King/Young) or through effective player trading (Pozzos). Spending a fortune on a new stadium didnt work for Sunderland Bolton or Coventry, I dont see why it would work for us. We just dont have the fanbase to justify it. 25,000 at the vic is our sweet spot IMHO. The vic is an absolutely fantastic stadium with shitloads of history and a genuine authenticity that is being corporatised out of football. In my opinion we have one of the best stadiums in Southern England. One of our biggest strengths as a football club is our authenticity we should defend it to the death.

Their fan base is more than 10 times bigger than ours and their fans hate their new stadium. Many West Ham fans say the stadium move ripped the soul out of the club. I'd hate to see that happen to our club.

Everyone's biggest fear looks like becoming a reality. Connor Roberts to Burnley is the new Rory Delap at Stoke.

TBF with the entire place planned for athletics (T&F) the sight-lines are awful for football (and rugby - I've seen four games there). The Dildo Bros and Knicker Girl's insistence of 'their' client base not having 'easy' access to Westfield really is spiteful.

The second best RB/RWB in the Championship last season after Kiko, perhaps a bit dodgy at the back, but excellent going forwards, if Burnley are going to play a wingback system, he could be very useful

Wonder if Dyche will knock the cheating rolling and thrashing around like a dying fish routine out of him though.

Remember the game at Middlesbrough. Bunch of cheating canutes. Now doomed for relegation.

SSN has collapsed. Spent 10 minutes discussing the possible ways Ronaldo could get the number 7 shirt.

The presenter has said 'Olly' about 20 times in some lame attempt to look good in front of Fat Sam, who's dressed to go to an Indian, and the other two who are looking around for something to do whilst farting out 'CR7' as much as possible.

Deadline day coverage has jumped the shark.

This transfer window was a wet dream for SkySports. They didn’t mention Watford once. Even when they linked us to Aurier they dubbed out the word ‘Watford’.

It was Ronaldo love-in, with a touch of Lukaku, Messi and Griezmann for good measure.

The Arsenal bashing is always good fun though.

Does anyone know the finances of the Deeney and Gray deals? ie did we have to pay Troy to leave and how much of Andre's salary are we still paying. I heard we are paying Success' entire salary for the next 3 years, not sure how true that is....

I understand QPR are playing part of Gray's wages, somebody on here said ball park figure of 25k. That saves us a tiny sum for the rest of this season. If Deeney was released, I think the club may of came
up with a severance package perhaps? It's very unlikely we paid off his entire contract. Not sure about Success, but if that rumor is true that's a bit much.

I guess in theory he is still part of the Pozzo family at Udinese!

Probably paying 65-70% of Gray’s wages I bet?

Overall it's been an astounding window. The club has done a great job moving on unwanted overpaid players especially in this climate. The recruitment has been exceptional considering the net spend but we are still lacking a CB and a DCM. We're also relying on having 'cup v palace Ngakia' rather than 'friendly v palace Ngakia'.

Everyone is saying this team has a lot of goals in it but we've scored 1 goal in the last 5 hours. This is a team that could score goals but might not. We've upgraded our midfield but can we find the right Chemistry/Alchemy that Hughes Chalobah and Clevs gave us in a lower league last season??

If Sierralta is injured our central defence wont be strong enough. But year after year Gino seems to think it is.

I'd love it if Bachmann is our #1 for years but in the short term we may have to recall Fozzy. I take heart from Bachmann's performance v Tranmere compared to what he turned into. I hope he can sieze this chance and show the PL how good he can be.

Overall I view our survival chances as 50/50. So much is unknown about where these players are at right now, how they will play together, how effective our tactics will be and how Xisco will perform at this level.

As a club we are underdogs and have no right to stay in the PL. How hard the players fight for each other and the mentality in the dressing room will be key as will the level of support from the fans at the vic. It's way too early to call this season, but I like the players we've got and sink or swim let's celebrate the 14th top flight season in our history and the joy of seeing the vic full again. It's true some things are bigger than football, but not many things, not many things at all!

I got much more insight by pressing refresh on Transfermarkts Latests Transfers page every 15 mins than I would've from SSN. Their deadline coverage has been **** for years.

Agree, I would say on our performance at Spurs we would be ok. The unknown is can they maintain this level in most games with dips in form and players missing. We don't have many in the squad who you would say are definitely better than the team that played on Sunday.
